Job Summary

The Director of Sales – Convenience is responsible for leading the strategy, growth, and execution across regional and national convenience retail accounts. This role will manage and grow key relationships with chain retailers, oversee trade and promotional planning, and collaborate cross-functionally to drive distribution, sales volume, and brand presence. The Director will play a key role in shaping our convenience channel, ensuring alignment with company goals while fostering long-term partnerships and contributing to the overall growth of the business.

Summary/Objective: 

The Director of Sales – Convenience is responsible for leading the strategy, growth, and execution across regional and national convenience retail accounts. This role will manage and grow key relationships with chain retailers, oversee trade and promotional planning, and collaborate cross-functionally to drive distribution, sales volume, and brand presence. The Director will play a key role in shaping our convenience channel, ensuring alignment with company goals while fostering long-term partnerships and contributing to the overall growth of the business. 

Leadership and Functional Responsibilities: 

  • Client Relationship Management: Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key convenience and gas station retailers by understanding their business objectives, challenges, and regularly communicating to assess satisfaction and address concerns. 

  • Sales and Revenue Generation: Meeting or exceeding sales targets by identifying and pursuing strategic growth opportunities, while leading the development and execution of revenue-driving initiatives across the convenience channel. 

  • Account Planning and Strategy: Creating and implementing strategic account plans by analyzing market trends, leveraging performance data, and partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver tailored customer solutions. 

  • Contract Negotiation: Leading negotiations for contracts and agreements that drive long-term value and growth, while maintaining alignment between customer goals and BRCC’s commercial strategy. 

  • Communication and Collaboration: Partnering with internal teams such as marketing, category insights, and product development to align on channel strategy, while communicating key account insights and best practices across the sales organization. 

  • Reporting and Analysis: Overseeing regular reporting on sales performance, account health, and forecasts, while using data to evaluate success, drive accountability, and identify areas for continuous improvement. 

Education and Skill Requirements 

  • 7+ years of experience in sales leadership; proven track record of building strategic partnerships with convenience or retail accounts (experience in consumer goods industry preferred). 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field, or 8 years of equivalent professional experience in lieu of a degree. 

  • Strong presentation skills, with the proven ability to influence and align cross-functional stakeholders. 

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. 

  • Strong computer and analytical skills; advanced Excel skills preferred; CRM experience required. 

  • Extensive experience negotiating and executing contracts with chain retailers. 

  • Lead internal collaboration on sales forecasting and planning. 

  • Strengthen relationships through strategic planning, proactive communication, and execution excellence. 

  • Set and track targets, oversee in-store execution, and expand brand presence across convenience retail partners. 

  • Manage high-impact customer relationships, driving brand visibility, distribution, and sales volume growth. 

  • BRCC Ambassador, always demonstrating BRCC Core Values. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the intuitive ability to lead and influence across various teams and personality types. 

  • Fluent with MS Office i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc. 

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Physical Requirements 

  • Position based remotely and must have the ability to travel 50%.  

  • This is a full-time position and may require long hours and may require weekend and nights work per events 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard reach, stoop kneel to install computer equipment 

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work 

  • Light to moderate lifting is required 

  • Regular, predictable attendance is required; including quarter-driven hours as business demands dictate 

  • Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone, and printers, light traffic) 

  • Ability to work in a confined area 

  • Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time
