HRIS Analyst

Job Summary:

Barnard College is seeking a highly skilled and process-oriented HRIS Analyst to join our dynamic Human Resources team. The ideal candidate will be a systems-level thinker, focused on executing HR systems and processes with a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced, high-demand environment. This position offers the flexibility of primarily remote work, with occasional in-person meetings and system rollouts in New York City. As an integral part of the HR team, you will contribute to the College’s mission and strategic goals by optimizing and supporting HR systems that serve our diverse employee base.

Job Description:

  • Administer and support the College’s HR Information System (HRIS), including Workday ERP, by ensuring smooth daily operations, system configuration, and data integrity.
  • Work with HR, IT, and other departments to optimize the HRIS for new or improving existing processes, workflows, and enhancements.
    Conduct system updates, configuration, or business process changes, and be part of the testing and verification of the functionality of new feature(s).

  • Primary contact to troubleshoot and identify HRIS questions or issues related to transactional or business processes. Escalate promptly if the matter cannot be identified or resolved to the larger Workday support team.

  • Provide data analysis and reporting on HR-related metrics to inform decision-making and process improvements.

  • Support HRIS-related training and documentation efforts for end-users.

  • Manage the HRIS data lifecycle, including data entry, updates, and system audits.

  • Assist in the implementation, roll-out, and knowledge transfer/training of system upgrades and new initiatives.

  • Assist with Compensation and Benefit tasks through EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder) Uploads.

  • Ensure HRIS compliance with institutional policies, federal regulations, and data privacy standards.

  • Act as a point of contact for HRIS inquiries and issues, providing timely support and resolution.

  • Consistently maintain and safeguard confidential information, exercising discretion in all conversations, transactions, and activities to ensure the integrity and security of sensitive, confidential information and data.

Skills, Qualifications & Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, or a related field.
    2+ years of experience working with HRIS systems, with a preference for experience with Workday.

  • Strong understanding of HR processes and data management.

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work and pivot among shifting/competing priorities.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in data analysis and generating reports. 

  • Must be proficient and demonstrate an aptitude and competency in Excel and/or Google Sheets with knowledge in data calculations and formulas, pivot tables, etc.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Comfort with working remotely, with flexibility to come to New York City for occasional meetings.
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Workday ERP systems, particularly in HRIS-related functions.
    Knowledge of HR compliance regulations, including data privacy and security standards.

  • Familiarity with system integration and software troubleshooting.

This job is currently a hybrid position and may require a presence in the office up to five times a week, including for team and full staff meetings and other times as directed by the supervisor.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $85,000 annually

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
