Become part of Hempel’s expanding & diverse team. We seek a Production Laboratory Technician enthusiastic about conducting quantitative and qualitative chemical to verify process conditions and compile research data.

You will have the unique opportunity to report directly to our Production Laboratory Manager, be based in our production unit in Polinyà, Barcelona -Spain and cooperate with colleagues from all over the world.

What you can look forward to in this Role:

  • Evaluate the physical characteristics of raw materials and products such as viscosity, color, gloss, IR-spectra.
  • Record results, perform calculations, and prepare simple technical reports, including conclusions and recommendations.
  • Follow instructions and checklists to set-up equipment and apparatus and mix chemical solutions for use in tests.
  • Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on laboratory equipment to ensure it is in good working order.
  • Provide support to the Production Laboratory Manager in Prioritizing and allocating laboratory operations and workflow so that the laboratory’s equipment and resources are used efficiently, and work schedules and targets are met.

What does it take to become our new team member?

  • Vocational education in Chemistry or University degree would be valuable.
  • Experience as a laboratory technician preferably
  • Knowledge of the paint and coating technologies would be a plus.
  • Ability to communicate in English.
  • ​​Computer skills​.
