Job Description

What you’d be doing in this role

We need a staff engineer to design and deliver an architecture that can evolve how we store media, video, audio, and documents into a generalised asset and file store that we can build upon with core and Wow features such as commenting, sharing,, automation, 3rd party integrations, and AI.

What you’ll do (responsibilities)

  • Play a leading role in defining the technical roadmap and architecture for the frontent powering Home, Content Management, and the AI Powered DAM across T&E, Media Platform, and Product Platform.
  • Propose innovative approaches and solutions to futureproof Canvas product decision platforms and deliver on business outcomes.
  • Design and implement the most intricate aspects of the system, showcasing your aptitude for tackling complex technical challenges effectively.
  • Guide the implementation of major projects, planning task breakdown and keeping engineers in sync using excellent verbal and written communication skills, including architectural diagrams.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to other engineers, assisting them in their professional development and helping them navigate technical challenges.
  • Have a widespread impact across the organization by facilitating and orchestrating crossteam initiatives that set a higher standard for reliability, velocity, and security.
  • Advocate for best practices that enhance our groups performance and reliability.
    • What were looking for

      • You have experience working with the core frameworks in our frontend stack JavaScript, HTML, CSS, React, and TypeScript.
      • Are firmly grounding in computer science and engineering fundamentals including concurrency, multithreading, data structures, solution design, architecture, and design patterns.
      • Have a passion for great UX, storytelling and collaboration.
      • Have crossbrowser knowledge as we are often driving changes that may have implications across many different browsers, devices, and modalities.
      • Are familiar with building out experiences on the back of a design system.
      • Have worked to build and ship impactful product andor changes.
      • You consider performance in everything that you do, especially as it relates to a great product experience.
