Role Overview

As the Product Manager for Business Banking & SME Ecosystem, you will lead the design, development, and delivery of an integrated suite of digital services tailored to Nigerian SMEs. Beyond traditional banking, you will drive the rollout of ecosystem features including accounting, tax tools, payroll, marketplace integration, and POS—positioning Renmoney as a onestop platform for SME growth and financial wellness.

You will work crossfunctionally to develop a scalable and compliant SME proposition that delivers revenue growth, enhances customer lifetime value, and deepens digital engagement. Your success will help shape the next generation of business banking in Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities

Product & Ecosystem Strategy

  • Define and evolve Renmoney’s SME ecosystem roadmap, incorporating core banking services (accounts, loans, savings) and valueadded services (tax, payroll, accounting, POS, marketplace, recruitment, etc.).
  • Identify and prioritize ecosystem capabilities based on market demand, customer feedback, and competitive benchmarking.
  • Propose ecosystem partnerships or API integrations to accelerate adoption (e.g., accounting software, HR tools, eCommerce platforms, etc.).
    • SME Client Onboarding & Journeys

      • Design and optimize digital onboarding experiences for SMEs, incorporating seamless document capture, tiered KYC, and automated verification aligned with CBN, NDIC, and NIBSS standards.
      • Streamline onboarding into core products and SMEES features such as payroll setup, POS registration, and tax profile activation, etc.
        • Feature Development & Delivery

          • Lead the product lifecycle for business banking tools (dashboards, rolebased access, bulk transfers, invoicing) and SMEES services (e.g., budgeting, procurement, functional support).
          • Collaborate with Engineering and Design teams to deliver userfirst, secure, and scalable features on web and mobile platforms.
            • CrossFunctional Stakeholder Management

              • Engage Compliance, Risk, Legal, Sales, Customer Support, IT, Finance, Data Sciences and Marketing to ensure holistic product development and rollout.
              • Work with ecosystem partners to develop gotomarket playbooks, customer onboarding flows, and operational support models.
                • Analytics, Iteration & Impact Measurement

                  • Track KPIs such as customer acquisition, deposit growth, loan usage, transaction volume, and engagement with SMEES modules (e.g., accounting, tax, marketplace).
                  • Use tools like Amplitude to monitor funnels and run AB tests to improve adoption and ROI across modules.
                    • Regulatory Alignment & Operational Risk

                      • Ensure all features and workflows meet Nigerian regulatory requirements and internal risk policies.
                      • Participate in internal audits and external reviews related to SME servicing, ecosystem vendor risk, and data privacy.
                        • Adoption & Growth Strategy

                          • Partner with Sales and Marketing teams to drive SME segment growth via targeted campaigns, CRM triggers, and referral programs.
                          • Shape pricing and bundling strategies that increase ecosystem feature uptake and drive unit economics.
                            • Requirements

                              MustHave

                              • 5+ years in digital product management, with experience in business banking, SME lending, or digital financial services.
                              • Strong understanding of SME pain points in Nigeria (e.g., compliance, cash flow, invoicing, staffing, tax).
                              • Experience launching at least one digital platform or multimodule product from zerotoone.
                              • Technical fluency to work with developers and architects on thirdparty integrations and workflow automation.
                                • NicetoHave

                                  • Familiarity with Mambu or other core banking platforms.
                                  • Knowledge of ERP integrations, business payment ecosystems, or accounting SaaS.
                                  • Certifications in Product Management, Agile, or Lean Product methodologies.
                                  • Background in working with MFBs, fintechs, or bankingasaservice providers.
