Job Description

BryceTech is seeking a Junior Analyst for FEMA’s Planning and Exercise Division (PED) to support critical efforts in national preparedness, planning, and emergency exercises. PED plays a vital role in strengthening FEMA’s readiness and response capabilities by developing strategic plans, coordinating interagency exercises, and identifying areas for operational improvement. The work location is flexible and may be at any of FEMA's 10 regional offices located in Boston, MA; New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Denton, TX; Kansas City, MO; Denver, CO; Oakland, CA; or Bothell, WA. 

This entry-level role is ideal for individuals passionate about public service, emergency management, and homeland security who are eager to make a tangible impact on national preparedness initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support planning efforts that enhance FEMA’s operational readiness and emergency response capabilities

  • Assist in the design, development, and evaluation of FEMA-led exercises, including tabletop, functional, and full-scale exercises

  • Conduct research, data analysis, and after-action reviews to support continuous improvement

  • Help draft planning documents, exercise materials, and briefings for internal and external stakeholders

  • Coordinate with FEMA regional offices, federal partners, and other stakeholders in preparedness efforts

  • Track planning and exercise milestones, deliverables, and documentation to ensure project alignment and accountability

Qualifications
  • Strong research, analytical, and communication skills

  • Ability to synthesize information and write clearly for a variety of audiences

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with project management or data visualization tools a plus

  • U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Secret Security Clearance or above

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Internship or coursework related to emergency management, homeland security, or disaster planning

  • Experience with exercise design, planning, or evaluation (e.g., HSEEP framework)

  • Team-oriented with a proactive, self-starting attitude

  • Familiarity with FEMA doctrine or national preparedness frameworks (e.g., NIMS, NRF, THIRA, SPR)
