Investment Services Public Markets, or ISPM, is an integrated team that provides investment service support for public market investment activities strategically and tactically. The team is responsible for business management functions for all public market investment strategy groups, as well as GIC’s global trade operations, custody control and asset servicing such as income entitlements, mergers and acquisitions and other corporate events of our underlying investments, futures and derivative operations, collateral management, pricing and rates, market data and rebalancing operations. The coverage extends across a spectrum of products such as equities, bonds, money market, foreign exchange, futures, collateralized securities and other derivatives.

 

We are looking for a suitable candidate to join our Custody Management Services team as an Associate / AVP.

 

What will you do in Custody Management Services?

  • Safeguard GIC’s investments in public markets with the execution of robust controls through the following post-trade functions.  The coverage is global and includes public markets assets such as Equities, Bonds, Money Market, Foreign Exchange and Derivative products.
    • Maintain the integrity of clients’ positions with automated checks against custodian banks’ positions.  Ensure timely exception management with liaison with external parties and internal partners for prompt resolution.
    • Manage failed trades for prompt resolution along with market practices and internal guidelines.  Ensure timely recovery to protect clients’ interest.
    • Ensure authenticity of all outgoing payments through payments surveillance check powered by data science and technology.
    • Maintain dashboards to manage exceptions and provide information for management.
    • Deliver capabilities through systems and digitization with strong collaboration with technology partners.
  • Be part of the centralized team to process non-capital payments and receipts promptly to optimize cash management.
  • Maximize recovery for class actions, working with internal and external partners.
  • Drive process improvements for productivity and quality enhancements; design solutions that enhances processes; deliver strategic changes for better client experience and support business growth.
  • Proactive in keeping abreast with industry best practices and market developments for adoption.

 

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

  • You should have a good Degree in Accountancy, Business or Finance with proven knowledge of Equity, Fixed Income, Forex and Derivative products.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in a financial institution; experience in custody services is an advantage.
  • You possess a drive to deliver excellent work, an eye for details, and interest to innovate to bring about process improvement.
  • You should also possess strong analytical abilities and have excellent communication and collaborative skills.
  • A good team player, who is self-motivated and thrives in a fast pace and dynamic environment.
  • A keen learner with the aptitude to learn fast and engage in continuous learning.
  • Knowledge of leveraging AI toolkits is advantageous.
