Job Description

Schedule: Night Shift

The Reinsurance Technical Assistant will be part of the Specialty & Casualty team and provide underwriting support for reinsurance contracts.  This new position will support our Bermuda based team of six underwriters plus Technical Assistant who currently write a significant volume of varied reinsurance business.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Liaise and collaborate daily with Technical Assistant in Bermuda office
  • Communicate directly with underwriters and others within Arch Re
  • Capture relevant contract data in the company’s underwriting systems
  • Process addenda and adjustment of data when required
  • Review of contract wordings using appropriate document comparison software
  • Ensure necessary compliance documentation is complete for assigned contracts
  • Maintain electronic files for assigned contracts
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, a quantitative background is preferred
  • Strong computer skills, in particular, proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications
  • Prior insurance, reinsurance and/or contract wording experience would be a plus
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role with a relevant educational background
