About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Event Manager to join our team and assist in the planning, organization, and execution of events in the dynamic blockchain and cryptocurrency space. A core responsibility will be to assist our engineering team in the planning and execution of developerfocused events including hackathons, hacker houses, university programs, and technical endeavors. This role is crucial in fostering developer engagement, supporting blockchain education, and ensuring seamless execution of events that empower builders within the Aptos ecosystem.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for event management and a desire to work in an innovative and fastpaced industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Event Planning and Execution:

Organize and manage technical events such as hackathons, hacker houses and university engagements — both virtually and inperson.

Work closely with the engineering and developer relations teams to design event experiences that align with Aptos’ developer education and adoption goals.

Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure smooth event execution.

For Aptos owned events oversee all aspects of event logistics, including venue selection,content and content production, AV setup, hardware needs, and ensuring smooth onsite execution.

Assist the engineering team with the development of event programming, such as speaker sessions, coding challenges, and mentorship opportunities, to drive deeper technical engagement.

Coordinate with external stakeholders, including universities, developer groups, and community leaders, to expand Aptos’ developer reach.

Partnership Management Community Building:

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential partners to enhance event success.

Serve as a bridge between event operations and the engineering team, ensuring events provide real value to developers.

Marketing and Promotion:

Work alongside the greater marketing team to create and implement effective promotional strategies, and to target developers, students, and technical audiences.

Manage eventrelated communications across various channels, including social media.

PostEvent Analysis:

Gather and analyze developer feedback, participation data, and project outcomes to measure the success of events.

Produce detailed postevent reports with key insights to improve future developer programs.

Work with internal teams to track developer engagement, hackathon project adoption, and contributions to the Aptos ecosystem.

Note: There is also an opportunity to expand your skill set into branding, social media, events, PR, content development, product marketing or other marketing areas based on your interests.

What Were Looking For:
  • 35 years of experience in event planning and coordination.
  • Strong project management skills with experience handling multiple events simultaneously.
  • Strong familiarity with developer communities, hackathon operations, and university engagement strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including experience in negotiation and partnership management.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to travel globally to execute a busy calendar of events 30% of annual travel should be expected.
    • Bonus Points:
      • Experience working in blockchain, opensource communities, or technical education.
      • Experience working in a techdriven or rapidly evolving industry.
        • The base salary range for this fulltime position is $120k$140k. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and typical maximum target for new hire salaries for the position of a candidate based in the Bay Area at any level. We do hire exceptionally talented professionals with decades of experience in their field. As such, our range may be higher than what is displayed. Our base salary ranges are determined by experience and location, and we hire at all levels for multiple roles. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location, jobrelated skills demonstrated during the interviews, working experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the compensation details listed in role postings reflect the base salary only and do not include equity, tokens, or benefits.
