🚀 About Strapi
Strapi is a leading open-source Headless CMS that empowers developers and content creators to build, manage, and scale their digital experiences. Our mission is to make content management simpler, more flexible, and accessible for everyone. Join our innovative and collaborative team as we continue to grow and shape the future of digital content.
🎯 About the Role
We’re looking for a Product Designer with a strong technical mindset to craft intuitive, elegant, and user-centered experiences that elevate how people interact with Strapi.
As part of cross-functional product squads, you’ll collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineers to solve users problems, shape solutions, and ensure our product is both delightful and impactful.
At Strapi, design and engineering go hand-in-hand: we value designers who are not only creative and user-obsessed but also comfortable understanding technical constraints, discussing implementation details, and even contributing directly to the product (writing PRs is a plus).
You’ll work alongside two other Product Designers and report to the Head of Product, playing a critical role in shaping how our product looks, feels, and works.
🔍 What You will Do
✅ Collaborate in squads with PMs and Engineers to define, shape, and deliver product features
✅ Understand user needs through research, interviews, and data analysis
✅ Design and prototype solutions that solve real user problems and align with business goals
✅ Collaborate with engineers to validate technical feasibility and optimize implementation
✅ Translate technical complexity into simple, user-friendly interactions
✅ Ensure accessibility and inclusivity across all user experiences
✅ Engage with our community and internal users to validate ideas and gather feedback
✅ Support and evolve our design system in collaboration with other designers
✅ Benchmark our competitors and stay on top of product and design trends
📌 What you need to succeed in this role
- 2+ years of experience as a Product Designer (or in a similar role) in a product-driven team
- Strong empathy for users and a humble, open-minded attitude
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills — clear, thoughtful, and proactive
- Comfortable working in highly technical environments and with open-source developer tools
- Willingness to dive deep into technical workflows and constraints — and ideally able to contribute at a technical level (e.g., drafting a PR, reading/writing simple code, proposing technically sound design solutions)
- Familiarity with Content Management Systems (e.g., Strapi, WordPress) or developer-oriented products
- Ability to translate technical complexity into simple, user-friendly interfaces
- Data-informed mindset — able to interpret analytics and user feedback to guide decisions
- Experience with and contributing to a design system is a plus
- Familiarity with accessibility best practices and inclusive design
