TITLE: Global Account Manager (GAM) 
 
DEPARTMENT: Sales 

REPORTING TO: Chief Revenue Officer 

OFFICE LOCATION: New York, NY  

ROLE TYPE: Hybrid, Full-time 


Overview of the Team  

This role will be based in NY, reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO).  

Role Overview: 

As a Global Account Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and maintaining strong relationships with our key global accounts. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic selling initiatives, and ensuring client satisfaction. This role requires a dynamic individual with excellent communication skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to navigate complex, multicultural business environments. 

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key global accounts, acting as the primary point of contact for international clients. 
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to grow revenue within existing accounts and generate new revenue through closing sales to existing/new business customers. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver tailored solutions that align with client objectives and assist with the development, standardization, and marketing of the service portfolio. 
  • Monitor account performance and ensure client satisfaction through regular reviews and performance reports. 
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients to ensure mutually beneficial terms. 
  • Stay updated on industry trends and market conditions to provide informed advice and strategies. 
  • Develop strategic selling initiatives to maximize profitability and increase market share within the account base, including go-to-market strategies. 
  • Ensure alignment of sales teams and resources to execute local go-to-market strategies. 
  • Develop new accounts/markets and establish the company as a significant data provider within the financial marketplace. 
  • Build pipeline opportunities, develop and manage the sales funnel, analyze and manage pipeline activity, and monitor sales activity. 
  • Increase market awareness and play a key role in the development of the IPC Market Data services portfolio. 
  • Achieve or exceed assigned sales and business targets. 
  • Establish new business contacts through a variety of networking activities, attend local networking events to assist in new sales lead generation, and be responsible for cold calling customer/prospects, appointment setting, and opportunity tracking. 
  • Create and maintain accurate account plans and review them with management. 
  • Maintain contact with the customer, resolve issues, and seek additional opportunities. 
  • Provide management reporting as required. 
  • You must also be able to work as an individual contributor within a fast paced, sales team environment with target and revenue deadlines. 

 

How You Will Make an Impact:  

  • Directly contribute to the company's revenue growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities through upselling to existing clients and acquiring new customers. 
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty by maintaining strong relationships with key clients, leading to long-term partnerships and repeat business. 
  • Drive innovation and ensure the company's offerings meet market demands by collaborating with internal teams to deliver customized solutions and playing a key role in the development of the IPC Market Data services portfolio  
  • Ensure that the sales process is efficient and aligned with the company's strategic goals through effective pipeline and sales funnel management along with accurate account planning and reporting. 
  • Expand the company's reach and influence of market awareness through networking and marketing activities to help generate new leads and opportunities  

 

Essential Skills and Experience to be Successful in this Role: 

  • Proven experience in account management or sales, preferably within the financial services, Saas or technology sectors. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic plans. 
  • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Familiarity with market data services and financial market trends is a plus. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Proven track record of success within high tech solutions sales 
  • Must be an effective networker 
  • 5+ years of experience in account management or sales, preferably within the financial services or technology sectors 
  • Thorough understanding of market data / electronic trading industry and technology 

Desired Skills and Experience: 

  • Ability to lead and inspire teams, even in a non-managerial role. 
  • Proficiency in multiple languages to communicate effectively with international clients. 
  • Advanced knowledge of financial technology and market data services. 
  • Experience in managing complex projects and coordinating cross-functional teams. 
  • Ability to think creatively and propose innovative solutions to meet client needs. 
  • Strong presentation skills to effectively communicate strategies and solutions to clients and stakeholders. 
  • Extensive network within the financial services industry to leverage for business development. 
  • Understanding of different cultures and business practices to navigate international markets effectively. 
  • Advanced skills in using CRM software (Salesforce) to manage client interactions and sales processes.
