Pratt and Whitney has an exciting new remote opportunity for a Director of Accounting - Group Functions.
What You Will Do:
- Manage the PwC auditor relationship.
- Represent the consolidated Pratt position/response/impact based on coordination across all SBUs.
- Drive oneRTX initiatives relevant to the Controllership function.
- Ensure that the financial reporting is timely, accurate, compliant with applicable laws & regulations, and consistent across Pratt SBUs.
- Monthly consolidation and quarterly reporting to RTX in support of external financial reporting.
- Review of quarterly and annual SEC and regulatory filings, including management review meetings and supplemental financial reporting schedules.
- Implementation of new financial statement disclosures across all Pratt SBUs.
- Drive process optimization in the financial reporting cycle
- Plan, execute and supervise risk-based ACA procedures and work plans - support investigations as needed/required.
- Deploy annual SOX program - monitor progress towards deadlines and facilitate with the Pratt SBUs emerging risks/issues.
- Evaluate trending issues and develop/implement risk mitigation strategies and/or process improvements.
- Coordinate with DT on SAP user access - provisioning and access reviews
Support RTX Business Controls and RTX Internal Audit teams.
- Research complex technical accounting issues, and present recommendations internally and across all lines of the business in a clear and concise manner.
- Developing technical accounting position papers and research memos for the organization in connection with significant, non-routine transactions.
- Prepare annual accounting assessments such as impairments (goodwill, intangibles, long-lived assets), VIE, equity method investments.
- Support RTX in monitoring accounting and regulatory developments; provide updates to senior management on the impact that new standards may have
Implementation of new accounting standards.
- Review conclusions and obtain concurrence with RTX Technical Accounting and PwC.
- Develop and maintain consistent and reliable accounting policies, procedures and approval matrices including alignment with RTX requirements.
- Drive simplification in policies and approval matrices.
- Manage bank accounts - maintain bank acct info, setting up a bank acct on the cashpool, requesting / managing intercompany lending facility, netting transactions between entities.
- Manage debt - requesting/approving as well as the managing and reporting of the debt facility with external banks, reporting of balances.
- Monitor and execute risk & hedging transax - setting up the facility (either internally or externally) to hedge, the ongoing monitoring of FX risk, requesting and managing as well as reporting of hedge transactions.
- Evaluate organization of the function - explore consolidation of the teams across Pratt Canada and the one team member in US.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Certified Public Accountant.
- Bachelor’s degree and 14+ years of applicable experience; OR an advanced degree and 12+ years of applicable work experience.
- 5+ years of progressive management experience.
- Experience in financial reporting, internal controls and technical accounting.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Master's level degree.
- Aerospace industry (or Pratt specific) accounting experience.
- Combination of large private company and public accounting experience.
- Strong technical accounting background; evaluation of significant, unusual transactions in areas of high judgement and interpretation of U.S. GAAP.

The salary range for this role is 176,000 USD - 352,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
