This role is critical in supporting our engineering, product, and business teams by ensuring high availability, scalability, and customizability of Atlassian tools to fit evolving business needs.

You will work cross-functionally with IT, DevOps, Agile, and engineering teams to implement best practices, create custom workflows, manage user access, and drive automation that enables seamless collaboration and productivity across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administration & Configuration:
    • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for the Atlassian suite, including Jira (Software, Service Management), Confluence, Bitbucket, and related plugins.
    • Configure and maintain projects, workflows, screens, custom fields, permissions, notifications, and schemes.
    • Manage global and project-specific settings, user roles, and access controls.
    • Perform regular maintenance, upgrades, and performance tuning of Atlassian tools.
  • Automation & Integration:
    • Design and implement automation using Jira Automation, ScriptRunner, and APIs to streamline manual processes.
    • Integrate Jira and Confluence with third-party tools (e.g., Slack, GitHub, Jenkins, ServiceNow) to improve cross-platform workflows.
    • Support continuous integration and DevOps pipelines through Atlassian tools.
  • Support & Training:
    • Provide tier 2/3 support for end-users and resolve tool-related issues in a timely manner.
    • Develop and maintain user documentation, guidelines, and knowledge base articles.
    • Train users and teams on best practices, usage, and new functionalities.
  • Governance & Optimization:
    • Drive standardization across teams by enforcing governance, naming conventions, and usage policies.
    • Analyze usage patterns and feedback to recommend and implement improvements.
    • Work closely with internal security and compliance teams to ensure Atlassian tools align with regulatory requirements and IT policies.
  • Project & Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with Agile coaches, Scrum Masters, and project managers to ensure Jira supports agile practices and reporting needs.
    • Participate in the selection and implementation of new Atlassian apps or marketplace solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience as an Atlassian Administrator or similar role.
  • Deep expertise in Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and relevant marketplace plugins (ScriptRunner, JMWE, Insight, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Atlassian REST APIs and scripting languages such as Groovy or Python.
  • Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and ITIL methodologies.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and integrations (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub, GitLab).
  • Working knowledge of Linux environments, database management (PostgreSQL, MySQL), and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have:

  • Atlassian certifications (ACP-100, ACP-120, ACP-600).
  • Experience with Jira Data Center or Atlassian Cloud Migrations.
