Job description

SENIOR SQL SERVER DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR

 Access Telecare LLC, headquartered in Dallas, TX, seeks a Senior SQL Server Database Administrator.  This a fully remote position, and the employee can work from anywhere in the United States.  Will be responsible for designing, implementing and migrating databases and systems hosting database services.  Specific duties include:  (i) designing, implementing and migrating databases on Amazon Web Services; (ii) working with the database engineering team on solutions/enhancements for recurring database implementation and migration problems; (iii) managing SQL Server databases through multiple product life-cycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems; (iv) refining and automating regular database administration processes, tracking issues, and documenting changes; (v) setting up and configuring scaled-out and highly available database administration services; (vi) configuring and maintaining database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and system performance to ensure high levels of availability and security; and (vii) sharing technical domain expertise, including by providing technical mentorship, cross-training and guidance to other team members.

This is a fully remote position, and the employee can work from anywhere in the United States. 

Must have a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related discipline plus five (5) years of experience in database administration.

Experience must include two (2) years of experience in the healthcare industry and two (2) years of experience with each of the following (can be concurrent): (i) designing, planning, and migrating databases on Cloud architecture; (ii) troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, availability group issues, replication issues, log shipping issues, connectivity issues, and security issues; and (iii) performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor and SQL Profiler. 

Must know (from any completed university-level courses, seminars, workshops, or real-world hands-on experience):   (i) troubleshooting SQL server-related CPU, memory, I/O, and disk space; (ii) SQL Server tools, including Profiler, DTA, SSMS, SAC, SSCM, PerfMon, DMVs, system sprocs, and Reporting Services; and (iii) working with windows server, security delegation, SPNs, and storage components.
