Job description

Tactical Radio Maintainer

Overview

This is a pivotal position for our team; internal and external customers, who is focused on supporting the program and its growth.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Maintaining Army radios in a Lab environment 
  • Participating in communications testing
  • Providing insights, and recommendations surrounding the use and maintenance of Army radios
  • Interacting with team members on operational procedures and plans
  • Assist with logistical support
  • All other duties assigned. 
Qualifications 
  • Plans, coordinates, and supervises installation, operation, maintenance, and management of military radios. 
  • Experience with more than two of the following radios:  PRC-158B, PRC-163, PRC-148C, PRC-167, PRC-150/160, PRC-148 variants, RT-1523 variants, and TW-900/950.
  • Knowledge of communications equipment installation in equipment racks, cabling, labeling, powering equipment, bonding and grounding.
  • Experience with inventorying equipment and maintaining an up-to-date inventory.
  • Experience interfacing with vendors and other DoD Stakeholders.
  •  Understands network and RF protocols.
  • Must demonstrate a respectful demeanor.  
Preferred Qualifications
  • DoD  Top Secret/SCI clearance. 
  • Military trained.
  • Army MOS 25C or 25U

Clearance:

  • Active DoD Secret clearance 

Education & Experience: 

  • 2-7 Direct relatable experience 

Location:

  • Fort Belvoir, VA. 

Travel:

  • Maybe some travel.
Physical Requirements:
  • Carrying and setting up radio antennas, cables, and generators
  • Climbing into vehicles or communication towers
  • Working in field environments under load (rucksacks, protective gear)
  • Operating or transporting equipment up to 50+ pounds
  • This position requires the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
