Position Summary:
The Senior National Account Manager will work to create long-term, trusting relationships with CVS. The Senior National Account Manager’s role is to work with the Sales Director, Drug Channel and oversee the CVS business for Beauty & Home Care categories, developing new business and actively seeking new sales opportunities.
The individual must be high energy, self-motivated, competitive, adaptable, intellectually curious and a strong communicator (both written and verbal) with an aptitude and desire to uncover new business opportunities while maintaining and developing long-term relationships. This individual will play a pivotal role in representing us at CVS.
Responsibilities:
Sales & Profitability at retail accounts. This would include generating and achieving annualized sales budgets; identifying, pursuing and securing new sales opportunities; and maintaining and growing existing businesses, all with a focus on profitability.
On-going forecasting for all accounts to provide best possible guidance to internal teams for planning purposes. This will include preparing for demand planner calls and ensuring our inventory on hand/on order is in line with needs.
Developing & executing profitable promotional strategies at each retail account and then tracking results post event.
Managing expenses as it relates to Coop, Operations, Chargebacks, etc.…for retail accounts and ensuring spend rates stay within budget.
Item setup and maintenance in retailer platforms (including cost changes when necessary).
Communicating the strategic initiatives of account base to the internal Marketing/ Produce Development teams (these initiatives would include merchandising, brand, operational, logistical, etc.…).
Responsible for all Divisional communication to retail accounts and building relationships accordingly.
Obtaining, interpreting, and utilizing available data (including but not limited to, Account POS (IRI/Retailer Specific), Syndicated Data (IRI/Nielsen), Shopper Insights, etc...).
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; Minimum of 8 years of proven sales experience.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Experience setting sales goals.
Experience managing a broker network to help manage account base.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and internet applications.
Experience with analyzing and interpreting syndicated data sources.
Strong customer service, negotiation skills and ability to interact with customers at all levels throughout their organization.
Self-starter with excellent time management, multi-tasking, strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
Strong work ethic and sense of integrity, trustworthiness, and ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Creative in brainstorming and proposing new ideas and solutions to existing problems.
Adaptability and strong problem-solving skills.
Understanding of consumer behaviors and industry trends.
Environmental Factors:
Working conditions are normal for an office/ home office environment.
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
Must be able to use a computer keyboard and view a monitor for extended periods of time.
Must be able to travel domestically (50%) and internationally for business (if needed). There is frequent travel to the Stamford, CT corporate office.
This is a remote position based out of the Mid-Atlantic or Northeast area.
