Job description

We're looking for an experienced Associate Creative Director to join our team in Dallas, TX! This hybrid-remote position reports to the Executive Creative Director and focuses on Creative Concepting, UI, and UX Sesign. 

Creative Concepting, Direction and Execution (approx. 60%)

  • Generate new creative ideas and concepts for projects, proactive presentations, R&D and business needs, with support from Executive Creative Director. Sometimes leading and sometimes supporting vision from ECD. Thinking through creative across multiple media and a broad range of target markets.
  • Communicate early and often to help ensure that the Design Process meets our timeline for the Phase prior to the Design-to-Dev handoff.
  • Collaborate closely with the Dev Team and 3D Team to develop and produce creative deliverables.
  • Be aware and proactive with brand tone/guidelines and implement consistently.
  • Be a key contributor in our Discovery Phase.
  • Research and create moodboards.
  • Create sketches and photo-bash concept art.
  • Stay on top of the latest tools, tech, AI trends, software, etc.
  • In the Plan Phase, think through budgetary considerations and write certain sections of documentation. Ensuring that concepts are on budget and able to be produced with feasibility in mind.
  • Alongside Accounts and PM Teams, establish project budgets for the Design Team.
  • Communicate effectively. Alongside our Accounts Team, you will communicate in a creative, thoughtful and inspirational way during Client calls and presentations.
  • Listen and openly receive feedback from Clients (externally) and Team Members (internally), emphasizing a humble and open approach to constructive feedback and different perspectives. 
  • Participate in new business development, including presentations, meetings, and RFP process.
  • Balance priorities across several different projects/tasks (large and/or small) simultaneously.


UI (approx. 25%)

  • Create a broad range of visual design elements for a diverse range of experiences and interfaces and meet the quality standards and goals of the Client and Team.
  • Take detailed notes during client meetings to gather feedback on functionality, designs, content types, etc.
  • Present concepts and the Team's design work.
  • Brainstorm with the team on storyboards, style frames, UI look, UX flow, technology, software tools, etc.
  • Work with developers to export 2D artwork into our development pipeline.
  • Ensure Quality Control, Art Reviews and Quality Assurance Testing.


UX (approx. 15%)

  • Uphold the vision of the interactive experience through thoughtful design of key interactions, user flows, and information architecture.
  • Support and conduct UX research for tech, interfaces, spaces, etc. to better understand the user and our audiences.
  • Strong focus and delivery on information architecture and content organization.
  • Advocate for users and their needs throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Produce UX flows, diagrams, wireframes, content strategy, prototypes, and presentations.
  • Storyboarding for visual content initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Production Team to ensure that the project’s UX design is understood and uphold the vision.
  • Maintain a keen understanding of the big picture of the project, emphasizing design principles including how creative decisions can impact budgets and timelines.



Requirements

Qualifications

  • 6-8 years of experience as a visual designer, UI designer, motion designer, etc. in agency environments.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a creative field required.
  • Established portfolio of relevant Client creative work.
  • High proficiency skills in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, Google Suite.
  • Ability to Learn and maintain a high-level understanding of Unity, Unreal, AfterEffects, Blender, etc.
  • Medium proficiency skills in hand drawing and sketching.
  • Ability to maintain a high standard of design and productivity in a fast-paced work environment
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to establish strong, creative directions and copy across a variety of media.
  • Proven ability to quickly identify problems and solve them.
  • Ability to brainstorm solo or in groups and develop big ideas from beginning to end.
  • Intimate familiarity with how brands and audiences engage in interactive/immersive experiences.

HYBRID REMOTE/CHOICE WORK POLICY

While you live in the Dallas area, you are not required to come to the office much during the week. You have the Choice. You are only required to be in-office for Client meetings, technical R&D and Team events. Trust comes from great communication and accountability.
