About the Role:

WinZO is committed to playing an active and constructive role in the on-going development of gaming policies that balance the needs of the company, the gaming community, and the society at large.

You will lead WinZO’s efforts to educate and engage with policymakers, regulators and policy influencers, government officials at State & local levels, trade associations, professional societies and other key stakeholders across the political and gaming policy ecosystems in India. This would include but not be limited to interacting with legislators, policymakers, government representatives, distinguished members of polity, civic partners, founders, investors, media and other influencers.

You would also be required to work with think tanks, non-profit organizations, and academia to facilitate policy evolution and amplify the voice of the Indian gaming startup ecosystem with the flexibility to travel frequently, and extensively across states.

What you will do:

• Responsible for strengthening WinZO’s relationships with key government agencies, relevant organizations from a regulatory affairs standpoint
• Responsible for developing and implementing short-and long-term government affairs strategies that will support WinZO’s commercial and policy-oriented objectives in India
• Advocacy with Govt. using various fora including industry fora and engage with industry Fora to ensure WinZO's position is suitably reflected in industry positioning
• Be extremely thorough in mapping stakeholders in states, and build relationships to support positive dialogue
• Working closely with internal cross-functional teams to educate regarding current regulatory framework, and learn about desirable policy breakthroughs
• Assist in building and creating collateral materials, representations, position papers on behalf of WinZO as the industry leader backed by extensive scientific research
• Work across a variety of member teams from public relations, communications, legal affairs, and business and growth team, with the ability to coordinate successfully, and lead projects to successful implementation
• Attend meetings, events and conferences to represent the company from a government affairs perspective, gather intelligence and identify engagement opportunities

What you should have:We’re looking for people with a hustler mindset, who are curious, eager to learn new things, with a passion for innovation, and work to be a little better every single day. This is not solely based on whether a candidate has previously done similar work or not. We’re looking for someone dynamic with below qualities in generous quantities to perform well in this role -

• 12+ years’ work experience in engaging with policy makers, research, legislators, and regulatory institutions
• Superior speaking and research skills (including presentation skills) brought to all tasks, including synthesizing ideas into materials and developing policy and project-oriented messaging, memos, speeches, talking points and other internal and external documents
• Deep knowledge of India’s political system; with experience in public policy strategy, implementation and engagement (optimally with respect to gaming); or significant experience in a similar corporate role
• Strong intent and ability to keep yourself updated on developments regarding regulation in the online gaming ecosystem by following all forms of media, and keeping ear close to the ground.
• Ideal candidates will have a keen interest in impact evaluation methodologies along with sound quantitative skills.
