Your Purpose 

The Public Policy, Senior Manager will play a pivotal role within the Corporate Affairs team, overseeing the development and execution of Bitso's public policy strategies in Mexico. You will leverage your strong expertise in financial regulation to act as a key intermediary between internal teams (Legal, Compliance, Product, Marketing and others) and government authorities.

Your responsibilities will include researching, analyzing, and shaping policies that align with Bitso’s objectives while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks.

You will guide teams on navigating regulatory processes and communicate effectively with government agencies, regulators, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth interactions. Additionally, you will be responsible for government communications related to regulatory issues, ensuring Bitso’s influence and compliance are maintained in the regulatory landscape.

Who You Are 

  • At least 8 years of experience in government policy, with a focus on financial regulation and compliance in Mexico.
  • Previous experience in the financial sector or tech industry.
  • Passionate about Crypto.
  • Strong in regulatory communication, acting as an intermediary between teams and authorities.
  • Active listener with the ability to guide teams through regulatory processes.
  • Established relationships with government authorities
  • Knowledge in Ley Fintech.
  • Highly responsible, organized, and disciplined, with outstanding attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively synthesize, visualize and communicate your ideas to others in English.
  • Based in Mexico City, full-time availability.

What You Will Do 

  • Lead Regulatory Policy Strategy: Utilize your deep expertise in Mexican financial regulation to ensure compliance across all business operations, navigating complex legal and policy landscapes.
  • Bridge Between Internal Teams and Authorities: Act as the main point of contact between internal teams (Legal, Compliance mostly, also Product, Marketing or Communication) and regulatory authorities, ensuring seamless communication and understanding.
  • Guide Teams Through Regulatory Processes: Provide leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams, helping them understand and navigate regulatory frameworks efficiently.
  • Manage Government Relations: Leverage established relationships and connections with key authorities like Banxico, CNBV, Condusef, UBVA and Member's of Congress, handling all government communication related to regulatory matters on behalf of the company.
  • Communicate Effectively: Utilize your strong communication skills and active listening to represent the company’s interests and foster productive discussions with external stakeholders.
