Scope of Position:
The Sales Development Representative (SDR) will play a key role in supporting inside sales, lead generation, communications, and business development activities. As an SDR, you will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and generating new business opportunities that contribute to the continued growth of our organisation in the UK, US, and selected international markets.
You will be the first point of contact in engaging prospective clients and will contribute significantly to the expansion of our customer base. Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Researching and identifying prospective clients aligned with our Ideal Customer Profile (ICP), with a focus on the food industry.
- Conducting inbound and outbound prospecting activities to generate qualified leads.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records within our CRM system and other sales tools.
- Initiating contact with prospects via cold calling, email, social media, and other communication channels.
- Personalising messaging to align with the prospect’s individual needs and business challenges.
- Using established scripts and sales frameworks to clearly communicate our value proposition.
- Rapidly researching companies to identify opportunities and formulate strategies for engagement across SME, mid-market, and enterprise-level organisations.
- Working closely with Account Executives to coordinate strategies, messaging, and outreach efforts.
- Meeting daily/weekly activity targets, including calls, emails, booked appointments, and qualified lead generation.
- Timely and consistent follow-up with leads to ensure strong engagement and pipeline development.
- Consistently achieving or exceeding monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.
- Contributing to the overall growth and success of Trustwell by delivering high-value conversations and qualified opportunities.
- Performing other duties as reasonably required and in line with business needs.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional approach to engagement.
- Ability to develop persuasive and tailored outreach messages, emails, and presentations.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple prospects at different stages of the sales cycle.
- Experience in prospecting and selling software solutions into new or emerging markets.
- Competency in identifying qualified leads against our ICP and understanding customer pain points.
- Familiarity with sales methodologies, psychology, and objection-handling techniques.
- Agile and adaptable with a willingness to evolve strategies based on performance and feedback.
- Proficient in using digital tools for prospecting (e.g., LinkedIn, ZoomInfo, SalesLoft).
- Resilient, results-driven, and motivated by personal and team success.
- Naturally curious, coachable, and committed to personal and professional development.
- Strong collaborator who works well with marketing and sales teams to align on goals and share insights.
- Detail-oriented and comfortable working to deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Education/Experience:
- A degree in business, marketing, management, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 1 year’s experience in a similar sales or business development role is required.

- The expected On-Target Earnings (OTE) for this role is upwards of £60,000 per annum, comprising both base salary and performance-related variable pay. The base salary is up to £45,000; based on skills, qualifications, and experience. This is subject to change in line with the company’s variable compensation schemes.
