Network Project Engineer (Tier 4)

The Tier 4 Network Project Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance of complex network environments at customer sites. This position is responsible for high-level network design, configuration, and ongoing management of advanced network systems, delivering superior service and technical solutions to clients. The Tier 4 Engineer will also lead escalated support issues, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the development of best practices and standard operating procedures within the department.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead the technical deployment of large-scale, multi-site networking solutions.

· Serve as a point of contact for escalated network issues, providing expert diagnostics and resolutions.

· Collaborate with Project Management to assess project scopes, deliverables, and timelines.

· Create and validate high-level designs and implementation plans for network architecture.

· Mentor and prepare junior engineers to ensure high standards of service delivery.

· Conduct regular evaluations of network performance and implement enhancements as necessary.

· Stay informed about industry trends, technologies, and software to maintain competitive advantage.

· Document and update network configurations, standards, and procedures in alignment with compliance regulations.

· Perform advanced troubleshooting of network issues across various environments, ensuring minimal downtime.

Requirements

Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience:

· A minimum of 6 years in network engineering with a focus on advanced-level network solutions:

o Extensive experience with designing and deploying enterprise-level networking solutions (Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, etc.);

o Strong understanding of network protocols, configurations, and troubleshooting methodologies;

o Proficiency in managing complex IP networks and their associated systems;

o Hands-on experience with WAN/LAN technologies, including MPLS, VPNs, and QoS configuration.

Licenses and Certifications:

· Advanced Networking Certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, JNCIE, etc.) are preferred.

Knowledge:

· In-depth knowledge of network security practices and tools, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs.

· Familiarity with network monitoring and analysis tools, such as SolarWinds, Wireshark, or similar software.

· Ability to interpret and respond to technical documentation and specifications.
