Overview:

The Manager, Compensation is tasked with building this new function and will be responsible for shaping the compensation landscape from the ground up, ensuring that the rewards strategy is competitive, sustainable, and aligned with business goals for a manufacturing company specializing in distribution transformers. This is a unique opportunity for a visionary professional with expertise in total rewards to make a lasting impact on the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and establish the Total Rewards function, creating strategic compensation frameworks from scratch to support our growth and organizational objectives.
  • Ensure all elements of the total rewards program, including compensation, recognition, and work-life balance, comply with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct regular market analysis and benchmarking to maintain competitive and equitable compensation and benefits packages.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and HR partners to understand organizational needs and employee preferences, tailoring rewards programs accordingly.
  • Develop clear communication plans to effectively convey the value of total rewards to employees, enhancing their understanding and appreciation.
  • Lead the total rewards team, setting goals, providing mentorship, and fostering professional development.
  • Utilize HRIS and analytics tools to evaluate the effectiveness of rewards programs, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion within total rewards programs, ensuring practices are fair and inclusive.
  • Oversee the budget for total rewards, ensuring strategic allocation of resources and cost efficiency.
  • Implement recognition programs that align with company culture and values, driving employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Stay abreast of trends and changes in total rewards practices, incorporating innovative approaches to enhance the employee value proposition.
  • Continuously review and refine total rewards policies and practices to ensure they remain effective, competitive, and aligned with company goals.
  • Lead cross-functional projects and initiatives related to total rewards, ensuring collaboration and alignment across HR and the broader organization.
  • Directly supervises 1-2 employees
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; coaching, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in compensation, total rewards, or a related HR function, with at least 2 to 3 years in a manager role.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree OR equivalent work experience in the Human Resources field. Advanced degrees or certifications in an HR-related field is a plus.
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector, particularly within companies producing distribution transformers or similar products, is advantageous.
  • In-depth knowledge of compensation practices, trends, and regulations.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in conducting market studies and financial analysis related to compensation and total rewards.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and compensation management tools.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to align total rewards with business objectives.
  • Leadership and team-building capabilities, with a track record of mentoring and developing talent.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
