Role Overview

Were looking for a Sales Development Representative (SDR) / Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our team and drive outbound prospecting efforts. This role is perfect for a self-motivated, goal-oriented individual who thrives on building relationships and generating new business opportunities.

You'll be responsible for identifying potential clients, setting up meetings for our sales team, keeping leads warm from demo to close, and ensuring a smooth handoff to our content team. If you're a natural communicator, enjoy strategic outreach and closing, and have a passion for AI and content marketing, this role is for you!

Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation & Prospecting
  • Identify and research potential clients within our target industries.

  • Conduct outbound prospecting via email, LinkedIn, and cold calling to engage leads.

  • Qualify leads based on ideal customer profile criteria and schedule discovery calls for the sales team.

  • Experience with product demos is a plus help support and conduct early-stage demos as needed.

Sales Outreach & Engagement
  • Craft compelling outreach sequences that drive interest and conversion.

  • Personalize messaging to resonate with different industries and buyer personas.

  • Follow up with prospects to drive demos to next steps and close deals.

  • Act as the thoughtful communication arm of the sales and management team to keep deals moving forward.

CRM & Pipeline Management
  • Keep the sales pipeline up to date in the CRM (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar).

  • Track and report outreach metrics to measure performance and optimize efforts.

  • Provide feedback on prospect responses to improve messaging and targeting.

Collaboration & Growth Opportunity
  • Work closely with the marketing team to refine messaging and identify new opportunities.

  • Collaborate with the sales team to ensure seamless hand-offs and align on target accounts.

  • Experience closing deals is a plus, with a clear pathway to moving into an Account Executive (AE) role.

  • Stay up to date on industry trends and Orcarus latest AI-powered content solutions.

Qualifications

Experience & Skills

  • 1-2+ years of experience in sales development, business development, or lead generation (preferably in SaaS, AI, or tech industries).

  • Proven track record of engaging prospects and booking meetings through outbound sales efforts.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive outreach messages.

  • Comfortable with cold email prospecting and LinkedIn outreach.

  • Experience supporting or conducting product demos is a plus. 

  • Experience closing deals is a plus, with a path to promotion into an Account Executive role.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple leads simultaneously.

Tech-Savviness

  • Experience using CRM tools like HubSpot, Salesforce, or Pipedrive.

  • Familiarity with LinkedIn Sales Navigator and other lead generation tools.

  • Basic understanding of AI, content marketing, or SaaS solutions is a plus.
