Job Description:

This position is responsible for managing all aspects of contracting to support the strategic plan for an assigned category of spend.

Key Responsibilities:
• Is the subject matter expert for all contracts in the assigned portfolio
• Participates in sourcing initiatives to implement and manage related contracts
• Negotiates pricing on non-initiative related contracts to comply with Supply Chain indexing requirements
• Participates in supplier relationship management engagements, business reviews and vendor relations
• Analyzes data and creates contract development plans for the creation and renewal of all contracts
• Participates in Supply & Equipment team engagements when assigned/applicable
• Leads supplier negotiations around target initiatives and assists in negotiations tied to larger initiatives
• Actively seeks out and attains savings opportunities
• Independently manages all contract renewals/re-negotiations/consignments agreements with a spend value of up to $250,000.
• Co-manages all contract renewals/re-negotiations/consignments agreements with a spend value in excess of $250,000
• Negotiates terms and conditions to protect organization, autonomously or in conjunction with the legal department
• Adheres to the contracting policies of Essentia Health
• Manages contract during lifecycle to ensure contract requirements are met
• Creates and manages Request for Proposals
• Performs other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications:
• Healthcare supply chain/procurement/logistics experience
• Legal experience
• Experience in a healthcare setting
• Data analysis experience
• Negotiation experience
• Proficient in the use of Excel

Work Experience:
