About The Role:

In this role, you will implement new or unused Workday modules that bring value to Giant Tiger's Workday HCM solutions and end users by utilizing knowledge in systems implementation, support and testing combined with critical thinking and understanding of business needs.

Workplace Arrangements:

This role will follow a fully remote schedule. Occasional travel to Ottawa Home Office is required on a quarterly basis.

What You’ll be Doing:
  • Implement new functional areas of Workday and ensure proper testing and impact analysis on other areas is completed in order to increase system utilization while maintaining stability.

  • Act as owner for Workday modules such as Talent, Compensation and Advanced compensation, Recruiting, Reporting  and consult with the Business leaders on continuous improvements in order to correctly build the Workday modules as desired by their administrators.

  • Handle implementation evolution requests requiring medium to advanced Workday configuration knowledge in order to improve specific areas in the system, revamp processes and enhance the overall Workday experience.

  • Utilize critical thinking skills and knowledge of Workday best practices to translate stakeholder requests into requirements, accurately understand the business needs and provide relivable solutions for talent, compensation, recruiting and reporting.

  • Develop test scenarios, execute tests for the projects and the assigned functional areas and conduct impact-analysis on the other functional areas in order to ensure your solutions properly function and the system is stable.

  • Conduct regular system audits to ensure accuracy of worker data and of configurations ahead of feature releases.

What You’ll Bring:
  • Bachelors Degree (Business Technology, Human Resources) or equivalent experience

  • Strong understanding of Workday capabilities and touchpoints between functional areas

  • 3+ years experience in implementation of Workday including post go-live implementations

  • At least 2 full implementations of Talent and Advanced compensation modules preferably in a retail environment

  • 3+ years experience in the following functional areas: Talent, Advanced Compensation, Scheduling, Reporting (advanced), Security.

  • Background in working in an HR environment and knowledge of HR processes and policies

  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, system mindset, testing best practices and impact analysis

  • Ability to apply concepts learned to other areas

  • Strong communication with ability to articulate guidance, concerns and influence others

  • Strong knowledge of MS Office suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Assets You May Have:
  • Bilingual is a strong asset

  • An existing Workday pro certification is a strong asset

  • Experience in the following areas is an asset: Payroll, Time-Tracking, Absence, Learning, Scheduling

  • Previous retail experience is an asset

Travel Requirements
  • May travel during implementations to home office in Ottawa
