Job Title: Sr Financial Analyst (Remote Opportunity)
Job Description
We are seeking a Sr Financial Analyst to join our team. This role is crucial for the financial management process from detailed analysis to high-level overview. The position is integral to the monthly financial close process, including preparing journal entries, reviewing the general ledger for accuracy, and preparing financial analyses. The role also involves assisting with budgeting, planning, forecasting, and preparing monthly reports to clients and corporate finance/operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform month-end close activities.
- Review the general ledger for accuracy.
- Prepare and analyze financial results.
- Assist with budgeting, planning, and forecasting.
- Prepare monthly reporting to clients and corporate finance/operations.
- Monitor spending to ensure it stays within client budgets.
- Provide analysis and tracking of key financial processes including accounts receivable and expense management.
- Track and manage purchase orders for the contract.
- Assist with special project management.
- Assess current procedures and assist with implementing process improvements and cost reduction initiatives.
- Support the Finance Director with ad hoc requests.
Essential Skills
- 3-4+ years of related professional experience with a strong accounting experience.
- Experience with the full financial close process.
- Familiarity with work orders, POs, and ERP systems (JDE and Oracle ideal but not required).
- Strong analytical skills supported by advanced Excel proficiency.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and ownership of work product.
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- CPA or MBA preferred.
- Experience with financial analysis in a company with $500 million in revenue.
- 5 years of experience in a Sr Financial Analyst role.
- Experience with third-party or client group financial management.
- Experience leading finance transformations.
- Experience in warehouse and distribution finance preferred.
- Experience working in hybrid or remote settings preferred.
Work Environment
This is a 100% remote position with a dispersed team across Central and Pacific time zones. The role offers a significant work-life balance, as testified by current team members. Training will be conducted virtually, and while the role may involve working independently, it provides an opportunity to work with a variety of client groups without the need for travel or frequent video meetings.
