Combining evidence-based instructional design with multimedia production, this role translates approved learning outcomes, course roadmaps, and subject matter content into cohesive instructional content, scenario-based experiences, interactive modules, guided and independent practice, and multimedia resources.

Working collaboratively with Instructional Designers, Program Chairs, faculty, and Subject Matter Experts, this position contributes instructional recommendations and carries assigned learning experiences from planning and scripting through production, quality review, and delivery. The role aligns content, practice, and feedback with course assessments and measurable learning outcomes while supporting responsible technology use, institutional quality standards, and continuous improvement.

This is a 12-month, full-time remote position based in the United States. Standard working hours are aligned with the Eastern Time Zone.

Essential Functions

  • Apply instructional design principles and adult learning theory to develop multimedia learning experiences aligned with approved program, course, and weekly learning outcomes, student needs, and project scope.
  • Partner with Instructional Designers, Program Chairs, faculty, and Subject Matter Experts to clarify learning needs, recommend instructional and media approaches, and translate academic requirements into development plans. Contribute to collaborative planning, communicating recommendations and production requirements clearly.
  • Develop authentic, scenario-based learning experiences, including simulations, that place students in relevant professional roles. Create connected storylines, discovery materials, simulated data sets, and practice opportunities that prepare students for aligned assessments.
  • Develop and refine learning experience proposals, instructional content, scripts, storyboards, and detailed production documents. Organize content into cohesive sequences that progressively build knowledge and skills, balance learner workload, and provide purposeful opportunities for application.
  • Design and build interactive learning modules, formative knowledge checks, demonstrations, and simulations using Articulate Rise 360 and other approved tools. Develop guided and independent practice with meaningful feedback that helps students evaluate evidence, apply concepts, and explain their reasoning.
  • Produce and edit video, audio, animation, graphics, presentations, and other digital assets using Adobe Creative Cloud and related production tools. Translate complex subject matter into clear, instructionally purposeful media that support the approved learning experience.
  • Develop, adapt, and troubleshoot web-based instructional materials using approved HTML/CSS templates and reusable components. Maintain consistent branding, responsive presentation, accessible interactions, and maintainable source files.
  • Apply University accessibility requirements throughout design and production, including text alternatives, captions, transcripts, readable layouts, sufficient contrast, and keyboard access. Review and test multimedia and interactive content, document barriers, and verify that identified issues are resolved.
  • Use institutionally approved generative AI tools and workflows to support planning, instructional writing, scripting, asset creation, and quality review. Critically evaluate and refine outputs for accuracy, alignment, accessibility, and bias while following policies for data privacy, intellectual property, academic integrity, and responsible AI use.
  • Prepare, publish, and test digital learning materials for Blackboard Ultra and approved hosting environments, including SCORM packages and embedded content. Coordinate with Instructional Designers, and technical teams to verify navigation, functionality, usability, and completion behavior and resolve delivery issues.
  • Manage multiple concurrent assignments through planning, production, review, revision, and delivery, meeting established milestones and quality expectations. Communicate progress, dependencies, and risks proactively; maintain production specifications, review records, organized source files, and reusable assets for accurate handoffs and efficient updates.
  • Apply institutional quality standards and participate in peer review and quality calibration. Review learning materials for alignment, accuracy, usability, technical performance, and brand consistency; incorporate stakeholder feedback, verify revisions, and use available learner feedback and learning data to recommend improvements.
  • Provide instructional multimedia consultation, recording guidance, and production support for academic programs and University initiatives, including course introductions, expert interviews, and scenario media. Collaborate with Instructional Designers to implement approved learning experiences accurately and document reusable practices.
