Job description

We are looking for an empathetic, detail-oriented, and proactive Accessibility Specialist to provide dedicated accessibility strategy, auditing, and remediation coverage across our client deliverables.

Note: This is a seasonal, fixed-term coverage role expected to run from December 2026 through May 2027 (specific employment dates are subject to change based on project needs).
Accessibility Specialists wear many hats—serving as auditor, educator, coach, technical advisor, and advocate for inclusive design. In this role, you will act as a key subject matter expert across cross-functional teams, ensuring our digital products, interfaces, and document deliverables not only meet but exceed Section 508, WCAG 2.2 AA, and ADA standards. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in assistive technologies, HTML5, and web standards, along with a passion for removing barriers and delivering high-quality digital experiences for Veterans and the public. Prior experience in federal government contracting or consulting is highly valued.
A typical day for a Coforma Accessibility Specialist might include performing accessibility audits and design reviews, reviewing Figma mockups for inclusive design practices, or advising developers on proper coding and VA Design System fixes. You might also audit and remediate non-web document formats (such as PDFs, Google Docs, or Microsoft Office files), support Veteran-Facing Services (VFS) teams in preparing for official VA 508 office audits, or provide assistive tech support for user research sessions to capture real-world accessibility observations. The best part of your day will be mentoring peers and celebrating when a delivery team successfully ships an accessible, barrier-free digital tool.
This role requires a persistent, positive, and growth-oriented mindset, along with a high degree of initiative and autonomy. You will thrive here if you are curious, highly collaborative, and dedicated to embedding accessibility throughout the entire product lifecycle—from initial strategy to measuring success. If you’re passionate about improving lives through digital products and services, Coforma is a great company for you.
$135,884 to $150,235 Annualized Salary + Benefits
Placement within this range will be based on the competency level of the candidate. An offer will be made at one of the following tiers:

  • Tier 2 — $142,800.00: Experienced and fully competent. Will be able to independently perform key responsibilities of the role once onboarding is completed.
  • Tier 3 — $150,235.80: Highly experienced and can perform all responsibilities of the role at a higher level than expected once onboarding is completed.
To honor our company-wide equitable pay system, the posted salary range and corresponding tier salaries are non-negotiable.
