“Our love for dogs is truly the guide upon which we base our product and business.” - Shawn Buckley It all starts with nutrition. The single most important element to a dog's life,(after he has found the love of his family) is his daily diet. The food you put in your dog's body, more than anything else, will determine his future health, happiness, energy level and perhaps even his vet bills. 100% of the ingredients we use to make JustFoodForDogs are certified for human consumption by the USDA. All of our dog recipes are cooked at minimum levels in our own kitchens in Newport Beach and West Hollywood, California. They are not a 'factory' or a 'plant' certified to make dog food but kitchens that have never seen the presence of even one 'feed quality' ingredient - ever. This method is much more hands on, it takes longer and costs more but it retains the nutritional value of the ingredients and in our view, makes JustFoodForDogs the best food in the world for your dog.

About the role

JustFoodForDogs is hiring an in-house Content Creator to make the content that brings the #1 vet-recommended fresh dog food to life. You’ll plan, shoot, edit and post content for our organic social and paid media channels, and work hand in hand with our creative team on social-first photo and video shoots. You’ll also step in front of the camera as one of the faces of our brand.

This role is a mix of both on-camera talent and hands-on producer. You're at ease talking to camera and creating content on the fly. You're dialed into trends and can pivot quickly when needed. You know what makes people stop scrolling, and you care about dogs as much as we do.

Key responsibilities

Develop shoots with the creative team

  • Partner with the creative team to concept, plan and execute photo and video shoots, from moodboards and shot lists to talent (human and canine) and props.

  • Contribute ideas in creative brainstorms, bringing a creator's point of view on trends, formats and hooks.

  • Capture behind-the-scenes and social-first content on set alongside the main production.

  • Help coordinate shoot logistics, including dog talent, locations and product prep with our kitchen teams.

Film, edit and post content

  • Concept, shoot and edit high-impact Reels, TikToks, behind-the-scenes footage and other digital assets.

  • Shoot short-form video and photography, mostly on phone and some on mirrorless camera, for organic and paid channels.

  • Edit content end to end: cuts, captions, text overlays, music, color and sound, sized for each platform and placement.

  • Write captions, hooks and on-screen copy in the brand voice.

  • Publish and schedule organic posts, and deliver ad-ready variations (multiple hooks, lengths and aspect ratios) to the paid media team.

  • Engage with the community on owned channels in coordination with the social team.

Be the face of the brand as needed

  • Serve as the on-camera personality for JustFoodForDogs across organic social (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook) and paid media.

  • Appear in paid creative, including UGC-style ads, testimonials and offer-led spots, delivering scripts naturally and on brand.

  • Represent the brand at kitchen and store events, pop-ups and partner activations as needed.

Plan, test and learn

  • Keep a steady content pipeline that supports the content calendar, product launches and promotions.

  • Stay ahead of trends, sounds and formats across platforms, and pitch timely ideas fast.

  • Review organic and paid performance with the social and paid media teams, and use the results to shape what you make next.

  • Bring fresh, data-driven ideas to content strategy discussions to keep evolving our creative direction.

  • Take feedback in stride and turn revisions around quickly in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

  • Make sure all content follows brand guidelines and our standards for nutrition and veterinary claims.

What you bring

Required

  • 3-5 years creating short-form social content for a brand, agency or your own established channel.

  • Natural, confident on-camera presence, with a portfolio or reel that shows you on camera.

  • Strong shooting and editing skills in tools such as CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut or Lightroom.

  • Deep knowledge of TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, including trends, formats and what drives engagement.

  • Understanding of how paid social creative differs from organic: hooks, pacing, calls to action and testing variations.

  • Ability to work quickly, manage several projects at once and take creative feedback well.

  • Comfortable working with dogs of all sizes and energy levels.
