Job description

Oxford Data Plan is an alternative data company serving institutional investors, primarily hedge funds, with real time daily KPI and revenue tracking products. We work with around 100 funds across fundamental long/short, multi-manager and systematic strategies. Post Series B, scaling fast.

We are hiring a senior leader to own the link between what clients buy and what we build. Reporting to the CRO, you will analyse win and deal rates at product level, size our target market, rank coverage gaps by the revenue attached to them, and turn that into roadmap recommendations and clear go to market messaging for the revenue team. The role needs both data science skills and commercial judgment. The goal is to maximise ARR by building the right products in the right order and selling them well.

Responsibilities:

• Win and deal rate analysis. Own the product level view of commercial performance: win/loss themes, conversion rates by product, segment and sector, and where deals stall for product reasons.

• Target market and TAM. Define and maintain our target market and TAM analysis by client segment, sector and KPI coverage area, so roadmap decisions are sized against addressable revenue. This becomes the reference map for where we grow next.

• Roadmap prioritisation. Recommend which products, segments, sectors and KPIs to prioritise, ranked by ARR impact, drawing on client interactions, pipeline evidence and your own analysis.

• Gap identification. Keep a live, ranked view of gaps in the current offering versus client demand, each with the revenue attached. Coverage gap closure is the company-level metric this role owns; Tech and Partnerships execute the closures.

• Product and Data Strategy Working Group. Take a leading role in the working group, holding the Revenue seat and bringing win/loss evidence and client demand ranked by ARR into every cycle.

• GTM messaging and timing. Create the messaging Sales and Account Management take to market for each product and launch: positioning, proof points, competitive counters and launch timing.

• Cross-department collaboration. Work closely with the CRO, CTO and Head of Data Partnerships so commercial signal reaches product and partnership decisions, and new capability reaches the sales floor.

• Market intelligence. Track competitor coverage, pricing and product moves, and keep our differentiation and Series B product narrative current.

Success Measures:

• ARR from products launched through the working group, and improved win rates on deals where a roadmap gap had been cited.

• Coverage gaps closed per quarter, weighted by revenue attached.

• Shorter time from commercial signal to roadmap decision, with one ranked list.

• Sales and AM teams working from consistent, current messaging on every priority product.

Requirements:

• Buy side experience at a leading hedge fund or asset manager, ideally in a market intelligence or alternative data function, evaluating datasets the way our clients do.

• Strong quantitative background, with working Python and SQL. You go to the data yourself.

• Experience sizing markets and making prioritisation calls with capital or revenue at stake, for example in an investing or strategy seat.

• Experience leading a data function or workstream, and able to translate between technical and commercial teams.

• Clear communicator who can turn analysis into a short recommendation and defend it with leadership and with the sales team.
