CNC Field Service Technician - Remote - Description
Our client in the machine tool industry is looking for a CNC Field Service Technician to add to their team. This is a road-based role throughout Southern Ontario. Candidates should reside in the Greater Toronto Area. In this role, you will be the face of the organization at customer facilities — diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining CNC lathes and mills. The right candidate has been inside the machines — hands-on diagnosis and repair, not just operation — and is energized by solving problems independently in the field. The company provides full product training and an industry-leading compensation plan. This is an exciting opportunity to represent a profitable, family-owned industry leader with 65+ years of history and significant growth potential. If you are self-motivated, organized, and a strong communicator who enjoys interacting with customers, this may be just the role for you!
CNC Field Service Technician - Remote - Responsibilities
• Travel to customer facilities across the Southern Ontario service territory daily
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software faults on CNC machines
• Troubleshoot servo drives, spindle systems, alarms, parameters, and I/O signals
• Perform mechanical repairs: ball screws, bearings, way systems, backlash adjustment
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and relay logic
• Perform preventive maintenance: lubrication, alignment, and system inspections
• Coordinate with the Service Manager and internal parts team to minimize customer downtime
• Represent the company professionally on-site; communicate findings clearly
• Document all service activity accurately for each customer visit
CNC Field Service Technician - Remote – Qualifications
• 3+ years hands-on CNC machine service or maintenance experience required
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting experience required
• Currently on the road or recent customer-facing, field-based experience required
• Valid driver's licence required
