About VEA Connect

VEA Connect is a growing telecommunications infrastructure company specializing in fiber optic network construction and installation across the United States.

We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized, and self-motivated Project Administrative Assistant to provide remote administrative and documentation support to our Project Coordinator.

This position requires someone who can work independently, manage their own time effectively, and take ownership of assigned responsibilities while maintaining consistent communication with the project team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily administrative support to the Project Coordinator.

  • Read and interpret construction drawings, site plans, and utility layouts.

  • Assist with reviewing drawings against field reports and project documentation.

  • Maintain and organize construction drawings, revisions, and project records.

  • Assist with tracking completed work, construction quantities, and project progress.

  • Update project trackers, spreadsheets, and progress reports.

  • Assist with preparing as-built documentation and project closeout packages.

  • Maintain accurate electronic filing systems and project records.

  • Proactively identify outstanding tasks and ensure deadlines are met.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in construction administration, project administration, or a related role.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, site plans, and utility layouts.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to assigned responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in telecommunications, fiber optic construction, utilities, or civil construction.

  • Familiarity with as-built drawings, construction quantities, and project closeout documentation.

  • Experience using project management and construction tracking systems.

  • Experience with monday.com and Sitetracker (Salesforce) would be an advantage.

Remote Work Expectations

The successful candidate must be self-disciplined, dependable, and capable of managing their responsibilities independently in a remote working environment.

The position requires consistent communication, accountability, accurate recordkeeping, and the ability to meet deadlines without constant supervision.

Interview Assessment

The ability to read and interpret construction drawings is a mandatory requirement.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to demonstrate their ability to interpret construction drawings during the interview process, including identifying construction symbols, utility routes, and relevant drawing details.

Candidates must demonstrate practical drawing interpretation skills rather than general administrative experience alone.
