Job description

We Care, We Challenge, We Commit, We Collaborate

Join Scrive and be part of an international, fast-growing company headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. Collaborate with smart, caring, and driven colleagues across Europe as we shape the Scrive story. 🚀

The opportunity

We are currently looking for a QA Engineer (1-year fixed term contract) to join our team and play a key role in our transition to an automation-first testing approach while ensuring the high quality of our SaaS web applications. This role is an exciting opportunity to help deliver secure, stable, and user-friendly solutions by uncovering hidden bugs and minimizing avoidable customer incidents.

📍 The role will be remotely within the EU, and you will report to Head of QA who is working remotely from Sweden. We offer a highly supportive team culture featuring daily developer syncs, weekly QA knowledge-sharing sessions, and annual psychical team meetups somewhere within Europe.

As a QA Engineer, you will:

  • Develop and maintain automated tests – Write and execute automated scripts using JavaScript or TypeScript and the Playwright framework to extend our test coverage.

  • Perform manual testing & feature validation – Balance your time with manual regression and exploratory testing to ensure full product validation where automation is not yet sufficient.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional squads – work together with developers, product managers, and your QA peers to explore new features, clarify requirements early, and push the quality bar higher with each release.

  • Identify, log, and troubleshoot issues – investigate bugs using logs, browser dev tools, and test outputs, documenting clear steps to reproduce in Jira and contributing to shared knowledge bases.

We offer great perks to help you succeed:

  • Personal development: Individual learning budget and the opportunity to attend annual conferences and meetups.

  • Health & flexibility: flexible public holidays and a weekly wellness hour to support a great work-life balance.

  • AI-driven approach: we highly prioritise innovation and provide access to market-leading AI tools to automate workflows and continuously evolve how we work.

  • Modern tech gear, ensuring you have the absolute best setup to succeed.

What we’re looking for

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • 3-5 years of experience in testing web applications within a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company.

  • Proven track record in balancing manual and automated testing, with a strong readiness to champion an automation-first mindset.

  • Strong debugging and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to exploratory testing and finding the root cause of issues.

  • Fluent English communication skills, allowing you to clearly convey test results, document findings, and provide structured updates to your team.

🌟 Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience with API and backend service testing using Python and pytest, expanding coverage beyond web UI applications.

  • Familiarity with performance or security testing tools to help identify bottlenecks and vulnerabilities early in the development lifecycle.

  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth working environment.

In this role, we see that you demonstrate strong skills in JavaScript/TypeScript & Playwright, Version Control (Git), CI/CD Integrations and Strong Debugging & Analytical Skills. These skills will play a key role in our assessment and discussions during the recruitment process.
