Our client, is an early-stage SaaS company building an AI-powered marketing platform for small and mid-sized businesses.

The platform combines marketing strategy with six specialized AI agents that execute across SEO, paid advertising, email, social media, content, and analytics. Business owners review and approve activities before anything is published or advertising money is spent.

About the Role

Our client is looking for an Account Executive to own the full sales cycle, from prospecting and discovery to closing and helping customers get started.

As the company’s first salesperson, you will work directly with the founders to build the pipeline, test messaging, and develop the sales playbook.

You will sell to small-business owners across e-commerce and local services, managing a high volume of conversations and short sales cycles. This role requires someone comfortable generating their own opportunities and closing deals independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Spend approximately half your time prospecting, building targeted lists and contacting business owners through phone, personalized email, and LinkedIn.
• Research prospects’ businesses and current marketing activities to tailor outreach.
• Lead discovery calls to understand marketing challenges, budgets, and business goals.
• Deliver personalized product demos focused on each prospect’s business.
• Handle objections clearly and honestly, setting realistic expectations about product capabilities and results.
• Close deals within a short sales cycle, typically one to three calls, with clear next steps throughout.
• Support customers through setup and initial use, helping them become active within their first week.
• Maintain accurate CRM records and realistic pipeline forecasts.
• Share customer feedback with the founders and document successful outreach, messaging, and sales processes.
• Collaborate with the Head of Growth to align sales and marketing efforts.

Requirements

• 3+ years of full-cycle sales experience, personally managing prospecting through closing.
• A proven record of meeting or exceeding sales targets, with the ability to substantiate results from your last two roles.
• Experience selling monthly subscriptions or recurring services priced at approximately USD 100–1,000 to small-business owners.
• Strong outbound prospecting experience, with at least 50% of previous closed deals coming from self-generated opportunities.
• Excellent spoken and written English for communicating with U.S. business owners.
• Availability to work Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM U.S. Eastern Time.
• Strong organization, CRM discipline, and follow-up skills.
• Autonomy, proactivity, and comfort building sales processes in an early-stage company.
• An honest, consultative approach to selling and setting customer expectations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience selling digital marketing services, SEO, or paid advertising, or working at a marketing agency.
• Experience selling to e-commerce or Shopify businesses.
• Familiarity with AI tools for prospect research, outreach, and sales productivity.
• Previous experience as a company’s first or only salesperson.
