Job description

Verra Mobility is a global road safety technology business partnering with governments and transport authorities to deliver roadside camera systems, speed enforcement technology and networked infrastructure.

We're looking for a hands-on Field Service Engineer / Operations Technician to install, maintain and troubleshoot roadside technology across the region.

This is an independent, field-based role suited to someone who enjoys solving technical problems, working across different sites and keeping critical systems running.

You don't need experience in traffic enforcement. We welcome candidates from telecommunications, fibre networks, IT infrastructure, CCTV, electronics and other technical field service backgrounds.

What you'll do

  • Install, commission, test and maintain roadside technology and equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, electrical and network faults.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance, repairs and equipment calibration.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues involving networks, cabling and associated systems.
  • Maintain accurate technical records and service reports.
  • Work safely across roadside and outdoor environments.
  • Manage assigned work independently while collaborating with customers and technical teams.
  • Participate in on-call support and travel between regional sites, including occasional overnight stays.

What you'll bring

  • At least two years' hands-on experience in field engineering, telecommunications, IT infrastructure or technical maintenance.
  • Strong technical fault-finding and equipment troubleshooting skills.
  • Practical knowledge of networking, LAN/WAN connectivity, cabling and Microsoft operating systems.
  • Experience installing, configuring or maintaining hardware and software.
  • Basic electrical or wiring knowledge.
  • A safety-first approach and confidence working independently.
  • Good communication, organisation and technical reporting skills.
  • A full, valid UK driving license.

Experience with CCTV, fiber networks, roadside infrastructure or intelligent transport systems is advantageous but not essential. Relevant technical qualifications and safety certifications are also welcomed.

Why join Verra Mobility?

Work with specialised road safety technology, build on your technical experience and develop new skills across networking, electronics and intelligent transport systems.

A company vehicle is provided for work-related travel.

This is a mobile, field-based position involving regular driving, outdoor working and on-call responsibilities. Employment is subject to relevant pre-employment screening and compliance checks.

Verra Mobility is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone is treated fairly and with respect. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and provide equal opportunities regardless of personal characteristics or circumstances.
