Job description

About Us

LTD Global, LLC is a certified woman-owned consulting firm based in Pleasanton, California, serving clients in the U.S. and abroad since 2003. We provide HR, accounting, and SaaS integration services to private, nonprofit, and government organizations, and we are Alameda SLEB certified and an SBA 8(a) program participant. Our HR team partners with nonprofits across the Bay Area and nationwide. We help them hire well, stay compliant, and build strong workplaces so they can focus on their missions.
Our clients do vital work, often with lean teams and limited budgets. We give them the HR expertise they need to hire well, stay compliant, and build healthy workplaces, so they can stay focused on their missions.

Position Summary

We are seeking a client-focused HR Generalist to deliver hands-on HR support to a portfolio of nonprofit clients. You will manage full-cycle recruitment, employee relations, compliance, payroll, and day-to-day HR operations.
This is a client-facing role. You will act as a trusted HR partner to executive directors, managers, and staff, often serving as the primary HR resource for organizations without an in-house HR team. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and comfortable supporting several clients at once.

Key Responsibilities

Client Partnership and Consulting

  • Build trusted relationships with executive directors, board members, managers, and staff.
  • Assess client HR needs and recommend practical solutions that fit nonprofit budgets and culture.
  • Lead client meetings, present recommendations, and deliver HR updates clearly and professionally.
  • Manage multiple client priorities and deadlines while maintaining high service quality.
  • Document client work accurately and track hours for client billing.

Full-Cycle Recruitment

  • Partner with hiring managers to define role needs, write and update job descriptions, and set hiring timelines.
  • Post openings on job boards, nonprofit networks, social media, and community channels.
  • Screen resumes, conduct phone screens, and coordinate interview schedules.
  • Develop interview guides and support structured, equitable hiring practices.
  • Conduct reference checks and coordinate background checks in line with fair chance hiring laws.
  • Prepare offer letters and support salary negotiations within approved ranges.
  • Manage onboarding, including new hire paperwork, I-9 and E-Verify, orientation, and first-90-day check-ins.
  • Maintain applicant tracking records and report on recruitment metrics.

Employee Relations

  • Advise managers and employees on workplace concerns, conflicts, and policy questions.
  • Conduct or support workplace investigations and document findings objectively.
  • Coach managers on performance management, corrective action, and difficult conversations.
  • Support performance review cycles, improvement plans, and terminations.
  • Conduct exit interviews and identify retention trends.
  • Promote a respectful, inclusive, and equitable workplace culture.

Compliance

  • Ensure client practices comply with federal, California, and other applicable state and local employment laws, including FLSA, FMLA, CFRA, ADA, FEHA, Title VII, and Cal/OSHA.
  • Track multi-state requirements for clients with employees outside California.
  • Draft, review, and update employee handbooks, policies, and procedures.
  • Advise on wage and hour issues, including exempt versus non-exempt classification, meal and rest breaks, and overtime.
  • Coordinate required training, such as California harassment prevention training.
  • Manage required postings, notices, and filings, including EEO-1 reporting where applicable.
  • Support leave administration, including FMLA, CFRA, pregnancy disability, and paid sick leave.
  • Coordinate workplace accommodation requests through the interactive process.
  • Conduct HR audits and recommend corrective actions to reduce risk.

Payroll and Benefits

  • Process or review semi-monthly and bi-weekly payroll for multiple clients through platforms such as Paychex, Gusto, GoCo, Rippling, and Paycom.
  • Verify timekeeping, PTO accruals, deductions, and pay changes for accuracy.
