Software Engineer II

CTG is seeking to fill a Software Engineer II opening for our client.

Location: Remote
Duration: 9 months

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using Microsoft .NET, Angular, SQL, and Microsoft Azure.

• Support cloud-forward development initiatives within the Mortgage Origination team.

• Analyze business requirements and develop scalable, reliable application solutions.

• Collaborate with development, operations, and business teams throughout the software development lifecycle, from technical analysis through user acceptance testing.

• Develop SQL queries, maintain database solutions, and support application integrations.

• Execute test plans, debug applications, and resolve technical issues.

• Analyze application dependencies, interfaces, and platforms to improve system integration and performance.

• Prepare and maintain technical specifications, system documentation, project plans, and effort estimates.

• Recommend technology and process improvements while following development standards, security requirements, risk controls, and regulatory guidelines.

• Coordinate project tasks, monitor milestones, and communicate progress to stakeholders.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:

May coordinate development tasks, guide less experienced team members, review technical documentation, and lead project activities based on project scope and business needs.

Education and Experience Required:

• Associate degree and at least 5 years of systems analysis or application development experience, or a combination of higher education and work experience totaling at least 7 years, including 5 years of relevant experience.

• Experience with Microsoft .NET, Angular, SQL, Azure, and cloud-based application development.

• Knowledge of SQL databases, cloud database solutions, application integration, and system design.

• Ability to analyze requirements, recommend and implement technical solutions, and coordinate with business and technology teams.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presenting technical information to business and technical audiences.

• Proficiency with personal computers and applicable project management, word processing, and spreadsheet tools.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Education and Experience Preferred:

• Experience supporting mortgage origination applications or related financial services systems.

• Understanding of application frameworks, cloud architecture, and integrated enterprise systems.

• Experience improving application performance and delivering cloud-based solutions.

• Proactive, action-oriented approach to identifying issues, implementing improvements, and supporting initiatives beyond routine business-as-usual activities.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $46.64 - $77.74/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
