We are sharing a specialised remote consulting opportunity for experienced U.S.-Licensed Lawyers with strong expertise in legal reasoning, legal research, issue-spotting, document review, and professional legal analysis to contribute their knowledge to advanced AI training and evaluation initiatives.
Selected professionals will analyse complex legal scenarios, evaluate AI-generated legal documents and arguments, and provide structured expert feedback on legal accuracy, completeness, and reasoning quality. The work combines substantive legal practice experience with analytical judgement, legal research, and systematic evaluation to help improve the reliability and sophistication of AI systems performing legal tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Research & Complex Issue Analysis
- Analyse complex legal scenarios involving litigation, corporate transactions, regulatory compliance, and other substantive legal matters
- Identify relevant legal issues, applicable legal principles, and material factual considerations
- Evaluate competing legal interpretations and assess their relevance to specific legal questions
- Apply professional legal judgement to scenarios involving ambiguous facts, complex legal standards, or multiple potential arguments
- Develop structured legal analyses supported by appropriate reasoning and applicable legal authorities
Legal Document Review & Evaluation
- Review AI-generated contracts, legal memoranda, legal arguments, and other professional legal documents
- Evaluate legal documents for substantive accuracy, completeness, clarity, and consistency
- Identify drafting weaknesses, missing provisions, incorrect legal statements, and unsupported conclusions
- Assess whether legal documents appropriately address relevant facts, obligations, and legal considerations
- Provide detailed recommendations to improve the quality and reliability of AI-generated legal work
Legal Reasoning & Argument Assessment
- Evaluate the logical structure and legal soundness of AI-generated arguments and analyses
- Identify reasoning errors, overlooked legal issues, and weaknesses in the application of relevant legal principles
- Assess the treatment of competing interpretations, material facts, and jurisdiction-specific considerations
- Distinguish persuasive legal arguments from conclusions lacking adequate legal or factual support
- Apply professional judgement to evaluate sophisticated legal questions across different practice areas
AI Training & Legal Content Evaluation
- Review AI-generated legal responses for accuracy, relevance, completeness, and professional quality
- Evaluate how effectively AI systems identify legal issues and apply legal rules to complex factual scenarios
- Develop clear corrections and reference explanations for inaccurate or incomplete legal analyses
- Provide structured feedback identifying specific improvements to legal reasoning, drafting, and interpretation
- Contribute subject-matter expertise to improving AI capabilities across legal research, analysis, and document evaluation tasks
Legal Quality Assurance & Technical Documentation
- Produce clear written evaluations explaining identified legal issues and recommended corrections
- Review legal research and analytical outputs for consistency with relevant professional standards
- Document substantive legal findings, methodological considerations, and evaluation conclusions
- Maintain high standards of analytical precision, attention to detail, and professional legal communication
- Support consistent evaluation quality through rigorous review and structured feedback on assigned legal tasks
Ideal Profile
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from a U.S. law school
- Active bar license in at least one U.S. state or the District of Columbia
- More than 3 years of substantive legal practice following completion of the J.D.
- Strong professional experience conducting legal research, developing legal arguments, and reviewing complex legal materials
- Demonstrated expertise in legal reasoning, issue-spotting, statutory interpretation, and application of legal principles
- Excellent legal writing skills, including the ability to produce clear, precise, and logically structured analyses
- Practical experience reviewing contracts, legal memoranda, litigation materials, or other substantive legal documents
- Strong ability to identify legal inaccuracies, unsupported arguments, missing information, and analytical weaknesses
- Experience evaluating complex legal questions involving ambiguous facts or competing interpretations
- Expertise in litigation, corporate, commercial, employment, personal injury, criminal, family, immigration, or insurance law is relevant
- Experience in intellectual property, healthcare, securities, real estate, tax, privacy, environmental, or regulatory law is also welcomed
- Strong understanding of professional legal research methodologies and the evaluation of relevant authorities
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent legal judgement and communicate sophisticated legal conclusions clearly
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accurate, comprehensive, and well-reasoned legal analysis
- Excellent written English communication skills, including the ability to provide concise and actionable professional feedback
- Experience reviewing complex legal documents or evaluating competing legal arguments is particularly valuable
- Familiarity with legal technology, AI-assisted legal research, or AI model evaluation is advantageous but not required
- Strong analytical reasoning, critical-thinking, and professional problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work independently, manage specialised assignments, and maintain consistent quality standards in a remote environment
