⭐ What you will bring

As Nutrium grows across Portugal, the US and Brazil, our finance function is growing with it, and accounting is at the heart of that next step.

As our Senior Accountant, you’ll be Nutrium’s Certified Accountant and the go-to person for everything accounting and tax, from monthly closes and tax filings to payroll, audits and intercompany operations across our entities. You’ll own the full accounting cycle, shape how it runs, and build the processes that will support us as we scale.

⭐ What you will be doing

• Take on the role of Nutrium’s Certified Accountant (Contabilista Certificado), registered with the Portuguese Ordem dos Contabilistas Certificados (OCC), taking legal and technical responsibility for the company’s accounting and ensuring all accounting and tax obligations are met on time;

• Own the monthly and year-end closing processes, including accruals, deferrals, provisions, and reconciliations;

• Prepare and submit tax returns and statutory filings, including VAT (domestic and VAT OSS), corporate income tax, IES, SAF-T, and withholding taxes, among others;

• Manage payroll processing and related obligations, including Social Security, withholding tax, and payroll accruals;

• Manage intercompany operations, transactions, and reconciliations across Nutrium’s international subsidy;

• Prepare for and support internal and external audits, from documentation to working directly with auditors;

• Prepare the annual report (Relatório e Contas);

• Document and improve accounting processes, policies, and controls, finding opportunities to automate along the way;

• Partner with internal teams and external advisors to keep everything running smoothly;

• Provide hands-on support in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management, helping monitor financial performance and identify deviations from expectations;

• Support the preparation of financial reports, KPI dashboards, and ad hoc analyses, contributing to strategic decision-making and identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and efficiency.

⭐ You might be a great fit if you...

• Are a Certified Accountant registered with the Portuguese Ordem dos Contabilistas Certificados (OCC) (mandatory);

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Management, or a related field;

• Have 5+ years of experience in accounting;

• Have hands-on experience across the full accounting cycle: tax filings, monthly and year-end closes, audits, payroll, accruals, and intercompany operations;

• Have a strong knowledge of Portuguese accounting standards (SNC), international accounting standards (IFRS), and Portuguese tax legislation;

• Bring experience from a startup, scale-up, or international environment (a plus!);

• Are autonomous, organised and detail-oriented, with strong ownership of deadlines and good judgement on when to decide and when to escalate;

• Thrive in a fast-moving, growing company where processes are still being built;

• Have experience with Primavera ERP (a plus!);

• Have an "AI-native" mindset and are excited to bring intelligent tools into your everyday work;

• Are fluent in Portuguese and English;

Salary range: 30.800€ - 40.000€, depending on your experience.
