Job description

Property Accountant - Charlotte Corporate Office

Behind Every Exceptional Community Is a Team That Keeps Its Financials on Track

At Northwood Ravin, we’re known for creating some of the most distinctive luxury apartment communities in the Southeast. That same level of care and precision extends beyond what residents see. It’s embedded in how we manage our financial operations, maintain accountability, and support the long term success of our communities.

We’re looking for a Property Accountant who takes pride in financial accuracy, values attention to detail, and understands the importance of reliable reporting in supporting a growing residential portfolio.

The Opportunity

In this position, you will support the financial operations of our residential communities through accurate reporting, account reconciliations, and day to day accounting responsibilities. You will play an important role in maintaining financial integrity, ensuring compliance with established procedures, and providing the financial information needed to support informed business decisions.

Key areas of focus include:

  • Preparing financial statements for residential operating properties, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements

  • Completing trial balance reconciliations, management fee calculations, and accounts receivable reconciliations

  • Reviewing aging and delinquency reports to ensure accurate financial records

  • Calculating mortgage interest, depreciation, and amortization accruals

  • Preparing bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies

  • Reviewing accounts payable transactions and approving the release of funds

  • Processing security deposit refunds for residential properties

  • Maintaining escheat records and preparing required unclaimed property filings

  • Preparing sales and use tax filings in accordance with applicable requirements

This is a role for someone who is analytical, organized, and comfortable managing multiple accounting responsibilities with accuracy and consistency. You understand that reliable financial reporting requires attention to detail, accountability, and the ability to meet deadlines without compromising quality.

What You Bring to the Team

You have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 2 to 3 years of accounting experience, preferably within real estate or property management. You are proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, with a solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and account reconciliations.

More importantly, you bring a thoughtful, detail oriented approach to your work. You are dependable, analytical, and proactive in identifying discrepancies and resolving issues. You communicate clearly, collaborate effectively, and take ownership of your responsibilities while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and professionalism.

Why Northwood Ravin

We believe exceptional communities are built by exceptional people and we are intentional about supporting both.

Our team is supported through competitive compensation, personal development, housing opportunities within our communities, and an elevated benefits experience designed to promote well-being, financial stability, and life beyond work.
