Job description

The Opportunity:

Make an Impact on Complex Construction Projects

We're looking for an experienced Project Scheduler who enjoys being at the center of project planning and execution. In this role, you'll work closely with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to analyze schedules to help keep projects moving forward, identify potential risks before they become issues for owners, and provide the insights needed to make critical project decisions.

This is an excellent opportunity for a scheduler who has worked on the contractor side of the business and understands the realities of construction project delivery. You'll be part of a collaborative team, contribute to high-profile projects, and have the opportunity to influence project success from planning through completion.

The ideal candidate brings 5-10 years of construction scheduling experience, strong expertise with Primavera P6, and the ability to turn project data into meaningful reporting through Power BI. Experience with contractor-driven projects is highly valued. The internal job description also identifies Primavera P6 as a core scheduling tool for this role.

Responsibilities include but aren't limited to:

  • Review detailed construction schedules against project specifications to support successful project delivery.
  • Partner with project teams to understand scope, sequencing, milestones, and schedule requirements.
  • Analyze project schedules to identify critical path activities, risks, opportunities, and potential delays.
  • Track project progress and provide forecasting to help teams proactively manage schedule performance.
  • Collaborate with procurement and construction teams to ensure actual dates, material lead times and key project milestones are accurately reflected.
  • Create meaningful reports and dashboards that provide visibility into project performance and schedule health.
  • Use Primavera P6 and Power BI to support planning, reporting, and project controls efforts.
  • Communicate schedule updates and recommendations clearly to project teams and stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5-10 years of construction scheduling experience.
  • Experience working for a general contractor, heavy civil contractor, or construction contractor.
  • Strong proficiency with Primavera P6 and experience managing complex construction schedules. The job description specifically lists P6 experience as a key requirement.
  • Experience using Power BI to create reports, dashboards, and project performance metrics.
  • Strong understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling, forecasting, and schedule analysis.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving and technical writing skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across project teams and stakeholders.

You’ll stand out with:

  • Heavy construction project experience.
  • Experience creating and maintaining CPM schedules on large, complex programs.
  • Experience supporting large, complex construction programs.
  • Experience performing schedule forecasting, delay analysis, or forensic schedule reviews.
  • Experience creating executive-level reporting and visual dashboards.
  • Experience supporting project controls teams.
