Senior Node.js Engineer

At the core of the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Node.js Engineer to join our team. The client provides core services and high-quality solutions for a large-scale online platform, and everything related to the online banking system, integrating externally developed components into existing application environments.

As a Senior Node.js Engineer, you will be working on an online banking system together with an international team of top developers. You will also take part in setting standards, establishing guidelines, and sharing best practices in order to ensure continuous learning and development.

Core skills you’ll bring

• 5+ years of experience with Node.js.

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript.

• Solid experience with AWS Serverless services - Lambda, SQS, API Gateway, EventBridge, DynamoDB, S3.

• Solid understanding and practical application of design patterns.

• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (preferably Terraform & CDK).

• Familiarity with TypeScript testing practices (unit, integration, system testing).

• Solid experience with event-driven architecture (e.g., Kafka).

• Familiarity with RESTful API design and OpenAPI specifications.

• English — Upper-Intermediate level or higher.

Nice-to-have

• Experience working in a monorepo setup (pnpm workspaces or similar).

• Familiarity with Relational Databases (MySQL) and an ORM such as Prisma.

• Hands-on experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB or similar).

• Work alongside a highly skilled engineering team to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications, APIs, and distributed systems.

• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-quality software solutions.

• Contribute to architectural discussions and technical decision-making, helping shape the long-term evolution of the platform.

• Drive improvements in system performance, reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.

• Support the development lifecycle by enhancing CI/CD processes, automation, testing, and deployment practices.

• Take ownership of production systems, proactively identifying issues and contributing to incident resolution and continuous improvement.

• Partner with internal and external teams to ensure seamless integrations and successful delivery of business-critical functionality.

• Promote engineering best practices through code reviews, technical documentation, knowledge sharing, and mentorship.
