Digital Health & Health Tech

We invent elegant solutions that create new capacity and promote patient choice. We know the NHS is the beating heart of our country. It only works because of the hard work of so many people. From nurses on the front line to specialist doctors and managers, everyone helps to keep things running. However, because the NHS is so big and so busy, even the best workers can have a hard time providing top care all the time. We have made a solution we call "elegant simplicity." Our inventive outpatients service makes it easier for patients to go from seeing their GP to getting better. It also helps GPs, Trusts, and the whole NHS by creating more space for care when it's needed. Our service helps connect patients with NHS consultants, making it easier to handle changes in demand. We believe in giving patients more choices and quick access to great healthcare. That's our promise to our patients and stakeholders.

Job description

About Medefer

Medefer is a pioneer in virtual-first specialist healthcare. Founded by NHS consultants over a decade ago, we were delivering consultant-led virtual outpatient care well before “virtual hospitals” became a national priority. Our model has since been cited in government and NHS England material on the NHS Online vision as one of the service models informing this direction.

We sit at the intersection of clinical provider and technology company. Our CQC-registered service is powered by Medefer’s own electronic health record and referral platform, connecting GPs, consultants, diagnostic providers and hospitals into a single coordinated system. This approach has won multiple national awards for elective recovery, innovation and impact, and we now serve both NHS partners and private patients across the UK.

Medefer is built on three principles: innovate to solve real system problems, collaborate with clinicians and partners, and put patients first in every decision. As we scale across Integrated Care Systems and grow our private services, joining now means helping to define what modern specialist care looks like - and owning the financial strategy behind it.

  • Confirming informed consent, considering capacity where indicated and assessing suitability for remote consultation.

  • Identifying and responding to safeguarding concerns and urgent clinical risks.

  • Explaining diagnostic outcomes sensitively, including uncertainty or when ADHD criteria are not met, and recommending appropriate next steps.

  • Producing accurate diagnostic reports and outcome letters within agreed timescales, communicating with patients, GPs and other professionals as appropriate.

  • Contributing to multidisciplinary working, clinical governance, audit, quality assurance and peer review.
