About the role

We are looking for a Digital Workplace Scripting & Automation Specialist to design and deliver practical automation solutions in a large-scale enterprise environment.

The role focuses on developing scripts, integrations and automated workflows that improve Digital Workplace services, reduce manual effort and enable reliable, repeatable operations. This includes API-based integration, orchestration, error handling, monitoring and the application of AI-enabled approaches where they add value. Collecting, validating and preparing data remains part of the role when needed to power these solutions and support operational insight.

Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Graph and SharePoint are important technologies in the current environment. The role may also support information management, data ownership, lifecycle and storage use cases, but its core contribution is reusable scripting and automation across the broader Digital Workplace landscape.

The detailed scope and initial priorities will be agreed with the Product Owner.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, maintain and improve scripts, integrations and automation solutions that support Digital Workplace innovation and operations
  • Build API-based integrations and automated workflows across workplace platforms and services using approved interfaces and methods
  • Create reusable automation components, utilities and patterns that can be maintained, extended and applied across multiple use cases
  • Automate recurring operational and data-related workflows to reduce manual effort while maintaining appropriate controls, traceability and reliability
  • Develop or implement AI-enabled automation, including agent-based solutions, where suitable for the agreed use case.
  • Collect, validate, transform and structure data when required by automation, integration, reporting or decision-support solution
  • Use technologies such as Microsoft Graph, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID and SharePoint where relevant to the solution, without limiting the approach to a single platform.
  • Investigate and resolve issues affecting scripts, integrations, automated workflows, authentication, data quality and solution reliability
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner and relevant engineering, architecture, security and operations colleagues to turn requirements into practical, maintainable technical solutions
  • Test, document, monitor and improve implemented solutions to support reliable operation, maintenance, reuse and handover
  • Follow established enterprise IT processes, security standards, data-handling requirements and documentation practices

  • Required skills and experience
  • Strong scripting or software-development skills, with practical experience building reliable automation, integrations or operational tools
  • PowerShell, Python or similar scripting experience
  • Hands-on experience with APIs, authentication and integration patterns for connecting enterprise platforms and services.
  • Experience designing automated workflows, reusable components or scheduled processes that are secure, supportable and maintainable
  • Practical understanding of automation design, source control, error handling, logging, testing, monitoring, documentation and maintainability
  • Experience implementing or supporting AI-enabled automation solutions, with an understanding of responsible use, security, data quality and appropriate human oversight
  • Working knowledge of structured data, including the ability to collect, validate and prepare data needed by integrations, automation and operational reporting
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to understand the purpose of a technical task and translate agreed requirements into a workable solution
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of assigned tasks and collaborate with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills and a practical, solution-focused approach
  • Experience working in a large-scale, process-driven enterprise environment

  • Nice to have
  • Hands-on experience developing AI agents or agent-based solutions, for example using Microsoft Copilot Studio or comparable platforms and frameworks
  • Practical experience with Microsoft Graph API and automation across Microsoft 365 services or Microsoft Entra ID
  • Experience with SharePoint Online administration, reporting, data extraction or automation
  • Experience with data visualization, reporting solutions or the preparation of datasets for business intelligence tools
  • Familiarity with information management, data ownership, lifecycle management, platform governance or storage management
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune, endpoint management or other Digital Workplace service platforms
  • Experience working in ITIL-based service management environments
