Job description

About Freehand

Most AI companies are building tools. We're building the worker.

Freehand is the AI Team that runs Accounts Payable and spend operations for the world's largest enterprises, negotiating rates, enforcing contracts, managing suppliers, processing payments, and reconciling data across enterprise systems. It's work that's always required armies of analysts, BPOs, and offshore teams to keep supply chains running.

The tech industry has spent years competing for a $16B software market. We're going after the $348B enterprises spend on labor instead, building the AI Team that doesn't promise incremental efficiency gains, but owns the outcome, with the ROI to prove it. Meta, Unilever, J&J, Pfizer, and Cardinal Health are already running parts of their operations on Freehand, and we're just getting started.

About the Role

We're looking for a Lead Brand & Creative Designer to elevate how Freehand looks, feels, and shows up in the market.

This is a foundational, hands-on role spanning brand, website, campaigns, events, and the full spectrum of marketing, sales, and corporate design.

We need someone with exceptional design craft, strong creative instincts, and the ambition to build a brand that stands out in enterprise AI. Someone who doesn't just execute briefs, but brings ideas, challenges the ordinary, and continually raises the creative bar.

You'll own both creative direction and production. One day you're developing a campaign concept or designing a new website experience. The next, you're producing investor decks, customer presentations, brochures, one-pagers, or trade show materials.

We need someone who brings the same creativity, care, and attention to detail to all of it.

You'll work closely with Marketing leadership and cross-functional teams to evolve our visual identity and establish the design systems and processes that help us scale. As Freehand grows, you'll have the opportunity to shape the creative function and team around it.

What You'll Do

Brand & Creative Direction

  • Evolve Freehand's visual identity into a distinctive, recognizable enterprise AI brand.

  • Lead creative concepts and visual storytelling across campaigns, launches, and brand initiatives.

  • Establish and maintain brand guidelines, design systems, templates, and visual standards.

  • Bring fresh ideas, creative experimentation, and a strong point of view to our work.

  • Provide creative direction and quality control across internal resources and external partners.

Website & Digital Experiences

  • Own the visual design of all new website pages, landing pages, and digital marketing experiences.

  • Create high-fidelity Figma designs, responsive layouts, components, and prototypes.

  • Translate complex product capabilities and messaging into compelling, intuitive digital experiences.

  • Apply strong visual hierarchy, UX/UI fundamentals, and conversion-oriented design principles.

  • Collaborate with developers and web partners to ensure exceptional implementation.

Marketing, Sales & Corporate Design Production

  • Own hands-on design and production across Freehand's marketing, sales, executive, and customer-facing materials.

  • Design investor presentations, executive decks, customer presentations, sales pitch decks, and proposals.

  • Create brochures, one-pagers, solution briefs, product sheets, case studies, reports, infographics, and other sales enablement assets.

  • Design trade show booths, event signage, environmental graphics, promotional materials, and branded experiences.

  • Produce creative assets across paid media, organic social, email, and integrated campaigns.

  • Develop product illustrations, diagrams, and visual explanations of complex technology.

  • Own production from concept through final delivery, including revisions, formatting, and print-ready or digital files.

  • Build reusable templates and asset libraries that improve production speed without sacrificing quality.

Build the Creative Foundation

  • Establish scalable design workflows, processes, and quality standards.

  • Manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities in a fast-moving environment.

  • Collaborate with external agencies, motion designers, and creative specialists.

  • Explore AI-powered creative tools to improve workflows and expand creative possibilities.

  • Help shape the future capabilities of Freehand's creative function.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in brand, visual, graphic, or digital design, ideally in B2B technology, SaaS, or a high-caliber creative agency.

  • An exceptional portfolio demonstrating original creative thinking and outstanding execution across brand, web, campaigns, and production design.

  • Strong command of typography, composition, color, layout, visual hierarchy, and brand identity.

  • Expert proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.

  • Strong website and landing page design skills, including responsive design and UX/UI fundamentals.

  • Extensive experience producing presentations, marketing collateral, digital assets, and print materials.

  • Experience with large-format production, trade show graphics, and environmental design.

  • Strong presentation design skills in PowerPoint or Google Slides.

  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling visual communication.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.

  • A proactive, self-directed mindset with the confidence to bring ideas and challenge creative direction constructively.

  • A genuine passion for design and the drive to create exceptional work, not simply complete assignments.

Bonus Points

  • Hands-on experience with Webflow, Framer, WordPress, or other website platforms.

  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, or web development fundamentals.

  • Motion design, animation, video editing, or 3D design experience.

  • Experience with AI-powered creative tools.

  • Experience building or scaling a creative function within a high-growth startup.

You'll Probably Love This Role If

You look at most enterprise technology marketing and think, "We can do better than this."

You care about the big creative idea and the smallest production detail.

You get just as much satisfaction from transforming an ordinary sales deck or trade show booth into something exceptional as you do from developing a new brand concept.

You have strong creative opinions, but you're equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves and getting the work done.

You want ownership, creative freedom, and the opportunity to help build a brand that genuinely stands out.

If you're motivated by making good work great, and great work impossible to ignore, we'd love to meet you.
