Akamas

Computer Software / SaaS

Akamas is the autonomous optimization platform that maximizes application performance, service reliability, and cloud cost savings. Akamas helps performance engineers, developers, DevOps, platform engineers, and SREs be more productive, prevent incidents, and achieve aggressive optimization goals at enterprise scale. Unlike infrastructure-focused cloud optimization tools, Akamas is application-aware, meaning that it optimizes full-stack configurations, taking into account application performance and reliability signals, SLOs, and user-defined constraints. With support for both continuous optimization of live applications in production environments, and automated performance tuning of applications in test/pre-production, Akamas uses reinforcement learning AI, observability data, and safety constraints to autonomously identify and apply the best system configurations to achieve cost, performance, and reliability goals. Founded by veterans in performance engineering, Akamas counts AWS, Dynatrace, Google Cloud, Gremlin, Mia-Platform, Micro Focus, RedHat, Tricentis, and Splunk among its technology partners. Akamas customers include leading financial services, SaaS software, and online consumer services brands. Akamas is headquartered in Milan, with offices in Boston, Los Angeles, and Singapore.

Akamas is a software platform that reshapes IT performance optimization through AI, automation, and the domain expertise we’ve developed by working with some of the most demanding enterprise customers across the world, achieving unprecedented levels of performance, efficiency, and cost savings.

This role is a great opportunity for someone with a strong technical background who enjoys sharing knowledge and combining hands-on technical work with storytelling and community engagement. Whether you already have experience in Developer Relations or are looking to grow in this direction, we're looking for someone curious and excited to engage with the technical community.

What you will do

Technical Advocacy & Public Speaking

  • Represent Akamas at conferences, meetups, and webinars, delivering engaging and technically rich presentations.

  • Share insights and technical knowledge on performance engineering, SRE, AI-driven optimization, and DevOps automation, building credibility within the community

Community & Market Engagement

  • Engage with the developer, DevOps, and performance engineering communities through social media, forums, and industry discussions.

  • Gather market feedback and community insights to help align our messaging with customer pain points and industry trends.

Technical & Product Marketing Content

  • Create and publish high-quality technical and product marketing content, including blog posts, whitepapers, case studies, and in-depth technical guides.

  • Partner with the Sales Engineering team to develop technical content based on customer optimization projects, build integration prototypes, and showcase the value of Akamas through real-world use cases.

  • Work closely with the Product team to translate complex technical capabilities into clear, compelling benefits for different audiences.

  • Develop messaging and positioning that resonates with performance engineers, SREs, DevOps engineers, and platform engineers.

  • Develop and deliver technical product demos that showcase Akamas’ value proposition to engineers, DevOps teams, and executives.

What you will do

  • A strong technical background, ideally with experience in DevOps and cloud-native technologies, including Kubernetes and other CNCF tools.

  • A passion for technical storytelling and sharing knowledge, with experience or a strong interest in speaking at meetups, conferences, and community events.

  • Strong writing and communication skills, with an interest in creating both in-depth technical content and accessible product messaging.

  • Ability to translate technical features into compelling value propositions for different audiences.

  • Willing to travel in the US and EU as needed to engage with customers, attend events, and deliver training sessions.

Why Akamas?

  • Make a real impact: Last year, we secured a $10 million investment from United Ventures, a leading venture capital firm investing in high-growth technology companies. This funding fuels our next stage of innovation and global expansion. We’re on the lookout for dynamic individuals who want to make a significant impact from day one and be part of a rapidly scaling tech company.

  • A remote-first mindset: We work primarily remotely and focus on outcomes rather than where work happens. At the same time, we value staying connected as a team and collaborating effectively across locations.

  • Real impact from day one:The team is small, which means your contributions are visible and your ideas get heard. There's no long chain between you and the decisions that matter.

  • A good moment to join:We're a growing startup with enterprise customers and a team that takes its craft seriously. There's still room to shape how things are done here.

  • Tech your way: Mac or Windows? Up to you. We’ll set you up with the tools that make you feel at home and help you do your best work.
