Job description

This is a remote position.

We are looking for a hands-on Web Developer to improve and maintain an existing website and interactive dashboard for one of our clients.

You will work on both the main website and the Priority Index Dashboard, making it easier for non-technical team members to manage content and update data independently. The role combines practical front-end development, Google Sheets integration, design judgment, and technical handover.

The target is to complete the project in approximately two weeks, subject to an initial review of the existing codebase and a realistic assessment of the scope.

What You'll Do

  • Codebase Review & Refactoring: Review and take ownership of existing AI-generated HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Identify issues, correct errors, and restructure the code where needed while preserving existing functionality and avoiding unnecessary rewrites.

  • Website & Blog Development: Improve the main website and implement a simple blog publishing workflow that enables non-technical staff to publish weekly thought-leadership articles without developer assistance or manual code changes.

  • Dashboard & Data Integration: Connect the existing interactive globe and OIC-country Priority Index Dashboard to Google Sheets, allowing the team to update data and priorities without editing HTML.

  • UI & Transparency: Improve the website's visual presentation where appropriate and develop a transparency page explaining the dashboard's data sources and methodology. Maintain a polished, professional, editorial style suitable for a high-value donor and institutional audience.

  • Deployment & Handover: Establish a proper code repository and repeatable Cloudflare deployment workflow. Document the implementation and train non-technical team members to manage routine content and data updates independently.

  • Experience deploying static websites through Cloudflare Pages or an equivalent platform, with sound version-control and repository practices.

  • Experience integrating Google Sheets with web pages or dashboards to enable data updates without direct code changes.

  • Ability to implement a straightforward, independently manageable blog publishing workflow for non-technical users.

  • Strong UI and design judgment, with the ability to deliver a clean, polished, and professional editorial experience.

  • Excellent written English and the ability to communicate technical decisions clearly.

  • Experience documenting technical systems and handing them over to non-technical users.

  • Availability to commit the focused capacity required to deliver a short-term project, with daily working-hour overlap with the Palestine/SWANA team.

  • Ability to deliver all project documentation, website content, and other deliverables in English.

  • Familiarity with SEO fundamentals and web accessibility best practices.
