ABOUT ORCHESTRA

Orchestra is a strategic communications and marketing company built for today’s complex and fragmented world. From decoding audiences to designing bold strategies, Orchestra integrates people, platforms, and stories that stick to help clients build lasting influence. The company offers programs that span from the highest level strategic business counsel through to tactical execution. Orchestra brings together 700+ people with experience across consumer and lifestyle, technology, nonprofit and philanthropy, real estate, sports, travel, hospitality, and more. Made up of leading firms BerlinRosen, Civitas Public Affairs Group, Derris, Glen Echo Group, Inkhouse, M18, Message Lab, Onward and Small Girls PR. It also launched Brightmode, a talent acquisition firm for communications professionals, and Versus Media Group, a strategy-first political media team. Learn more at www.orchestraco.com.

People of all backgrounds and abilities are strongly encouraged to apply. Orchestra is committed to building and maintaining a diverse staff, and recognizes that its continued success depends on hiring and retaining high-quality creative professionals with a variety of backgrounds and experiences. Opportunities for advancement exist, and we are committed to helping all staff develop and grow.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Client Management Associate will play an essential role on Orchestra’s Client Management team in identifying and advancing growth opportunities across existing clients. Orchestra’s Client Management focuses on the client lifecycle after work is won, helping teams retain clients, deepen relationships, deliver an integrated Orchestra experience, and identify opportunities to expand the partnership over time. Working alongside client relationship leads and subject matter experts, this person will help turn client needs and opportunities into integrated strategies and connect clients with the right Orchestra capabilities.

This is a cross-functional role for someone who is highly organized, commercially aware, and deeply focused on the client experience. The ideal candidate can understand a client challenge, see how earned, owned, paid, creative, experiential, and other capabilities can work together to solve it, and quickly connect the right people across Orchestra to turn that thinking into a compelling commercial opportunity.

Role location: This role will ideally be hybrid in one of our offices (New York, N.Y., Washington, D.C., Boston, M.A., Miami, F.L., Seattle, W.A., San Francisco, C.A., San Diego, C.A., Los Angeles, C.A.), or can be fully remote in the U.S. for the right candidate.

ACCOUNTABILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS

As a Client Management Associate, you will:

  • Advance a portfolio of expansion, renewal and extension opportunities across existing Orchestra clients
  • Work with client leads to identify potential opportunities based on client needs, business priorities, relationship context, and existing work, and develop those opportunities into client-ready recommendations and strategies
  • Think across Orchestra’s capabilities to build integrated strategies rather than single-workstream solutions
  • Determine which capabilities and subject matter experts should be engaged and convene cross-functional teams across the firm, knowing when and how to bring the right people and expertise together around a client opportunity
  • Assess the urgency behind commercial opportunities and facilitate the process to move quickly from a client need to a recommendation, team, scope and pricing
  • Conduct client, industry and competitive research to strengthen recommendations and present potential growth opportunities
  • Manage pricing and scoping requests and help ensure recommendations are commercially sound
  • Manage and route Client Desk requests, quickly connecting client leads with the right resources and expertise
  • Facilitate account planning, renewal planning and other initiatives focused on proactively growing existing client relationships
  • Use AI and emerging tools to strengthen research, writing and Client Management workflows

Essential skills

  • 3–5 years of experience in communications, marketing, business development, client strategy or a related field, with client-facing experience required. Direct experience working within an agency strongly preferred
  • Strong commercial instincts and the ability to recognize where an existing client need could become a broader opportunity
  • A commercial mindset with the ability to recognize an opportunity, know when an existing need could become a broader partnership, and understand what is needed to move it forward
  • Strong relationship-building instincts and the ability to connect people and expertise across teams
  • A strong sense of urgency and comfort operating in a fast-moving environment where client and commercial needs can shift quickly
  • Strong research, project management, and organizational skills
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to turn complex ideas into clear, persuasive, and client-ready materials
  • Ability to coordinate multiple subject matter experts and priorities under tight deadlines
  • Comfort using AI tools, including ChatGPT, to improve research, writing, and workflows
  • Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working across different teams and areas of expertise
