Remote Working | International Client Base | Senior-Level Opportunity
Target Start Date: November 2026
We are recruiting on behalf of an established, specialist brand and marketing agency operating across the automotive, engineering and wider technical sectors.
Our client works with international businesses at important stages of commercial change, whether that involves brand transformation, increasing market share, launching new products, mergers and acquisitions, or building awareness and credibility in new markets.
The agency takes a commercially focused approach to marketing, developing strategies, positioning and programmes designed to deliver measurable business impact.
With an experienced senior leadership team, an international client base and ambitious growth plans, the business offers the opportunity to work on high-profile, challenging projects while making a meaningful contribution to its continued development.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Account Manager to take ownership of day-to-day client relationships and ensure the smooth delivery of projects within agreed scopes, schedules and budgets.
This is a hands-on position offering genuine autonomy and responsibility. The successful candidate will work closely with the Founder / CEO, Creative Director and specialist partners across brand and strategic marketing engagements.
You will be the person who knows what is happening, what needs to happen next and who is responsible. You will translate agreed strategies and scopes into organised delivery, provide clients with confidence and enable senior leadership to focus more time on strategic direction and business development.
The position also offers the opportunity to establish your reputation across the automotive and wider technical industries and play an active role in the growth of the agency.
Act as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned client accounts, building trusted relationships with stakeholders and developing a clear understanding of their objectives, priorities, and approval processes.
Lead regular client meetings, preparing agendas, capturing decisions and actions, and providing clear progress updates.
Ensure clients understand what is required from them and the relevant deadlines.
Manage expectations confidently, consolidate feedback and resolve routine issues independently.
Identify sensitive, strategic or commercial matters early, escalating them with clear recommendations for next steps.
Take responsibility for the retention and growth of existing accounts.
Proactively identify opportunities to expand client relationships through additional services, projects and ongoing programmes.
Listen carefully, ask intelligent questions and develop opportunities into new work. For example, a client commissioning a new brand identity may subsequently require a retained programme to implement and launch it.
Translate agreed project scopes into practical delivery plans, establishing milestones, responsibilities, dependencies, review stages and client approval deadlines.
Coordinate internal team members, freelancers, contractors and external suppliers.
Work with strategic and creative leads to prepare clear briefs, ensuring everyone understands the required deliverables and timescales.
Monitor progress across multiple concurrent projects, anticipating bottlenecks and resource requirements.
Keep projects moving through timely decisions, effective communication and consistent follow-up.
Maintain accurate records of actions, decisions, feedback, approvals and deliverables.
Ensure project documentation, files and versions remain organised, with effective handovers upon completion.
Monitor agreed project fees, allocated time, external costs and outstanding work.
Identify potential budget overruns early and support accurate invoicing and commercial reporting.
Recognise requests falling outside the agreed scope and clearly communicate the implications for cost and delivery timescales.
Coordinate the necessary approvals before additional work begins.
Review deliverables for completeness, accuracy, consistency and alignment with approved briefs before client presentation.
Coordinate appropriate strategic and creative sign-off.
Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes, ensuring reporting and administration remain practical and proportionate to the size of the business.
Support the development of proposals and statements of work, contributing realistic delivery plans, resource estimates, scope definitions and documentation.
Assist with structured strategic marketing programmes and other client engagements where required, within agreed priorities and available capacity.
Maintain a primary focus on existing client relationships, account growth and successful project delivery.
The Senior Account Manager will take ownership of day-to-day account management, project coordination and delivery within agreed scopes and delegated authority.
You will be expected to take the initiative in developing and growing existing accounts.
The Founder / CEO will retain responsibility for overall strategic direction, final approval of pricing and contracts, and significant account decisions.
The Creative Director will retain responsibility for creative direction and creative approval.
The successful candidate will be expected to involve the appropriate people in decisions, escalate issues with clear context and recommended solutions, and exercise sound commercial judgement.
Delegated authority will increase as trust and confidence are established with clients and colleagues.
We are looking for a commercially minded, highly organised and proactive account management professional who can combine strong client relationships with exceptional project delivery.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
A proven track record of independently managing B2B client accounts and delivering brand or marketing projects within an agency, consultancy or comparable environment.
Experience managing projects from an agreed brief through planning, creative development, client review and final delivery.
Strong experience managing project budgets, timelines and changes to scope.
Confidence working directly with senior client stakeholders, asking intelligent questions, managing challenging conversations and communicating clearly.
A strong understanding of branding and marketing, with the ability to understand the commercial purpose behind the work.
The ability to interpret complex or technical information and translate it into clear, practical briefs.
Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and consistent follow-through.
The ability to manage competing priorities, use project management tools effectively and maintain accountability across multiple stakeholders.
Sound commercial judgement and the confidence to work independently within a small, remote team.
A proactive approach, knowing when to take initiative and when wider input or approval is required.
Experience managing clients across international markets, including Asia, North America and Europe.
An understanding of cultural differences, business standards and client expectations across international markets.
The ability to identify opportunities within existing accounts and confidently develop those opportunities into additional business.
Experience within automotive, engineering, industrial or other complex technical sectors would be particularly valuable.
Experience coordinating international stakeholders and external specialists would also be advantageous.
Sector experience is desirable, but strong account management and project delivery capability are essential.
You will be expected to:
Develop a strong understanding of assigned clients, their objectives, active projects, key stakeholders and working arrangements.
Establish clear project plans, delivery schedules and reporting processes.
Take ownership of routine client communication and delivery coordination, including the mobilisation of a new brand programme.
Maintain visibility over project milestones, client feedback, approvals, budgets and changes to scope.
Identify and communicate potential risks early enough for appropriate action.
Reduce the Founder / CEO's involvement in routine follow-up and coordination while maintaining client confidence and delivery quality.
You will have become the primary relationship owner for your assigned accounts, taking responsibility for their ongoing development and growth.
Senior leadership involvement will increasingly focus on strategic client reviews rather than routine account meetings and project coordination.
After you apply, unlock the direct contact details of the people who actually make the call. A quick follow-up makes you 5x more likely to land an interview.
