Job description

About the Role:

SafeRide Health is seeking a Data Engineer or Senior Data Engineer with Healthcare Encounters experience to take ownership of our encounters data workflows.

This role is a key risk-mitigation hire: it will create clear accountability for building encounter files, moving data to and from external partners, processing responses, and measuring performance.

In this role, you will:

  • Own the technical encounters workflow and reduce single-point-of-failure risk
  • Build encounter files and scalable pipelines for delivery to third parties
  • Ingest and process response files and create systems to measure encounter performance
  • Use SQL and Python to develop, automate, validate, and troubleshoot data workflows
  • Partner with internal teams to improve encounter completeness, accuracy, and timeliness

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical field
  • 3+ years of professional experience building with SQL and Python
  • Data warehousing and data modeling experience in a professional environment, including star-schema modeling and report design
  • AWS Data Services (Redshift, Athena, S3, DMS, Glue, SageMaker, etc.)
  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow
  • Experience building data solutions in a high-scale or high-expectation engineering environment
  • Demonstrated ownership and ability to design and implement solutions in a rapidly transforming environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with healthcare data exchange, external submissions, response processing, or performance measurement
  • Direct encounters experience within a payer, state agency, healthcare organization, or comparable environment
  • Ability to take end-to-end ownership of an operationally critical data workflow

  • Own the Encounters Solution Architecture and implementation
  • Create reliable systems for outbound encounter files and inbound response processing
  • Improve measurable encounter completeness, accuracy, and timeliness

Compensation: $80,000 - 150,000
